Last time this upper level midranger with a ram, battery and charging speeds of a lower level midranger costed 1800.
Wonder what Sony is thinking.
Mi 11 ultra can be bought from 400-600 euros and is a lot better device even si year and half old.

"According to the report, Sony will launch the phone with three cameras, all with new and improved sensors, all of them with 48MP resolution. On top of that, one of them will have a variable aperture between f/1.2 and f/4.0."
So could Sony use the 1inch sensor they co-developed with Sony (and shared developmental costs).
Also the f/1.2-4 seems amazing, especially if its variable and not just 2 aperture. Plus f/1.2 seems the brightest on a smartphone, and with a reasonably large sensor, it should produce some amazing results. It's even brighter than on Huawei Mate 50 Pro with it's f/1.4-4.
Not sure why Sony isn't improving it's Computational Photography algorithms and improving their HDR, including video HDR quality. They need to fix that.

Example, it's why Some sony high resolution audio products have a large bulge on chassis to store it's os-con capacitors as it's provided noise less power source, nw-zx1, nw-zx100, nw-zx2 etc

If with android 12, the S22 series is already slower compared to other brands using same SoC, imagine these phones with android 15 or 16 installed.
No, number of stuff UI has does not make phone slower. Just an excuse.
Note series was never slower than S series despite having the extra software related to the S pen.

I only buy it if it has a bigger screen than the Xperia 1 IV. Unfortunately it always seems to start from the base of series 1

If i had Xenon flash on Sony Ericsson k800(900mAh battery) in 2007 then they can put it on these modern phones too...it makes picture look way better .

Sony simply has other plans.
Also, the souce says Bayer, not Quadbayer. I do not know where gsmarena got the QB from.

The smartphone form factor is very limiting.
Many stuff we used to see 16 years ago will never come back. Mainly because the external design point of view. Also, makes very hard to current internals hones have today.
Larger battery and multi cam setup for something like BlackBerry Priv would would not end well.

Even Apple went with 48mp quad bayer sensor and Sony seems to be follow that. There'll be 48mp sensors on Sony flagships next year and probably other notable changes. You know, the mk 2, 3 and 4 has been very similar. Hopefully the 3.5mm jack and microSD stays on
