The only sensible way, if you are not rich, is to buy an older iPhone model (if you came from Android and definitely want to change). Or just remain with Android phones. You can find very nice options in the 300-500EUR price range.
I think, the fact that you have so many options in Android, is actually a good thing now. With Apple, is the first year when they are not offering something below 800EUR (unless you want to buy that outdated iPhone SE3). Which is a very bad situation.
The prices have gone up too much. You can have side by side an iPhone 11 Pro series and an iPhone 14 Pro series, and the differences are not so big. Especially for the average consumer. Certainly not 1000EUR difference, being the fact that an iPhone 11 Pro Max cost now around 600EUR refurbished and an iPhone 14 Pro Max cost 1500EUR.
But anyway, each with their own.

I know it's not APPLE's fault, but in the current currency-/inflation scenario germans have to shell out 1 grand for a phone with just two cameras, 128GB of storage and a 1 year chip. That's madness.
They should have found "cheap" options to sugar that situation, e.g. raise the storage to 256 for a discount, which should cost them next to nothing.
Will be interesting to see the sales figures in a year

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are not worth it. In my country they are very close to iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max prices.
Of course, this iPhone 13 Pro modes you will not find for long, but if someone plans to buy an iPhone just now, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are not worth it.
As for iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, depends how many of the rumors about iPhone 15 series will come true. If many of those rumors are true, then is better to wait for 15 series.
Basically, 14 series iPhones from this year are pretty much a "No go", for anybody planning to buy an iPhone. At least, this is my opinion.

I repeat: The problem is that Apple describes this feature in their promotional materials in a deceiving way that tricks average Joe into thinking that the 2x crop from this sensor is identical to the 1x shot in terms of image quality.
**Tech nerds like us** already know how this crop zoom actually works, but an average Joe who has only read Apple's description might not be able to understand its mechanism correctly and could falsely believe that it is better than what it actually is, because Apple's description of the feature is misleading. Hopefully I made my point clear enough this time around.

Excellent article, once again. Provides very useful points and highlights the contradictions and deceptions.
In particular, this shows once again the Apple marketing / "distortion field", with Apple presenting a (very?) disappointing choice (sticking with an old SoC, for the first time in history, which they don't brag about), and presenting it as a positive (bringing pro SoC to the non-pro line, with a faster GPU). And that while keeping the refresh rate at 60 Hz...

Huawei was torpedoed by the CCP which financed it and controlled it. The US would have to be really stupid to allow Huawei in its secure infrastructure, no matter how tempting China made the prices. It was a honeypot scheme and they got caught.
