Intel's Raptor Lake will be able to achieve 6GHz in normal use and 8GHz with liquid nitrogen.

This will come with a high energy consumption and temperature

    AMD's going for efficiency and Intel's trying to go for "power". You'll most likely need state of the art cooling just to keep it in check.

            Forget intel in europe, electric bill prices go 2-3x in 1year

              Intel is still all out on raw clocks. While good for rather simple "apply clock to all cores" thing they've been going on for years, it also always results in absurd power consumption. Now, if performance is there, some are willing to take that, but for most casual users, the stock settings are pretty absurd. Like, Alder Lake is always on brink of thermal throttling, even with 360mm AiO's.
