It's not 6 week of battery life. It's 21 hours. Worst than many smartphones.

I find this ridiculous, it took them 11 generations to meet the specifications of the Kobo Clara HD released in 2018. Not to mention the storage isn't expandable. Not to mention you can't just drag and drop books onto it. Also let's just call it how it is, their battery life claims are ridiculous. 30 minutes in broad daylight everyday will get you 6 weeks, well great to know that's exactly how I use my eReader. That'll drop down dramatically the more you use it, my Kobo Clara HD lasts 2 weeks if I read 2-3 hours per night with the lights at 30% brightness and warmest colour temperature. Very niche use case Amazon 💯. Also for those about to reply saying "ACTUALLY the Kobo Clara HD doesn't have expandable storage," I'd encourage you to open your Clara HD and realize that it uses a microSD card as it's internal storage, making it essentially infinitely upgradeable. It's important to note that the OS is not installed on the card, so they are technically hotswappable.

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2022If it had expandable storage or more than 16GB I would buy oneI think this where you need to differ your choice, if you want to buy this book for reading MANGA then DON'T BUY IT. If you wanna buy this book to read NOVEL then absolutely buy this thing up.

16gb is more than enough unless you're so free that you'll finish each novel in 1 hour.

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2022If it had expandable storage or more than 16GB I would buy oneFor text based books, you will struggle to fill the 16GB's of storage that this E-reader has built-in.

Just for an example: The text only based book of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte has 1009 pages, and is 1.95 MB in size. Using that as a base, you would be able to fit/store 7250 books of that size in 16GB (14.5GB user accessible) of memory, or around 7250000 pages of text...

so many people in these comment are clueless about the usefulness of kindle paper. Don't talk much if you haven't used it please? Like you don't know you can read 100 novels with this kindle non-stop without restraining your eyes (of course you'll be sleepy nonetheless) but the eye strain isn't there unlike how you'll strain your eyes just by reading 1 volume of novel in your whatever cheap $100 phones. And also battery is longlasting! Don't forget e-ink isn't the same like your typical "reading mode" or that "anti bluelight app", it's entirely different. In fact, yesterday I finished reading ruination novel in this super lightweight kindle and I saw so much underrated features (I mean I was skeptical about kindle because Im manga addict to the core, who the heck buy this device when you can buy the same gadget like smartphone for same price with much feature? Oh boy I was wrong and yes I'm happy by knowing kindle exist)

I have an Kindle Oasis 2020 edition and love it. It doesnt strain eyes to read books, battery lasts weeks, there is no glare like in tablets. But i understand that it is a niche device for avid readers only. I think Amazon understands it too

I read 10-20 minutes then fell asleep usually. With a tablet, instead of reading, you got distracted (online shopping, games, emails), and ends up playing 2-3 hours before falling asleep.

One can easily buy a cheap smartphone for 100$ and that will have far more features than this crap. It's not like books will be free on Kindle Pad, I don't see what's the USP of this

And also if it can be used to read manga and books and such that have pictures and drawings in them to show the action and so on sometimes. Wouldnt it best to see it in color ? IF IT CAN BE USED THAT WAY. Idk much about why these exist.
