Flashback: Apple is slow to adopt new tech, but only on iPhones

18 September 2022
The 12" MacBook from 2015 was one of the first devices to adopt USB-C, the iPhones will be one of the last to do it.

One thing that I like is Apple made true wireless earbuds mainstream. Anything else isn't that good about Apple. Will take Samsung anytime. They improved a lot.

hmm, 18 Sep 2022There is not much needed to satisfy apple customers to say ... moreWhy everyone accuses iPhone users of being these dumb drones who just buy iPhone because of Apple logo and entirely dismiss my entire point of consistency? I'm sure there are some, just like some buy a Samsung no matter what, but it's about the said consistency. I don't have to check bunch of reviews to see if it's good. That has pretty much never even been a question or a worry. It's a consistent guarantee. It's all down to users deciding whether it's worth upgrading now or not (not in terms of if it's even better, but by how much to be worth spending any money). And with years of major software updates, it's no problem waiting for that point.

SShock, 18 Sep 2022But is it really? There is tons of things that you can'... moreThey absolutely messed up the vibration motors on few Samsung lines, i had A52s (it's not S line but still) and the vibration was a nightmare. Imagine using a vibration for gestures and it just stops working after 5 minutes 💀
The only way to fix it was to shake the entire device.
The main reason i moved to Xiaomi 12 Lite was because of vibration motor.
They be offering pretty big numbers but fail in very basic things such as vibration or speakers.

I am not specific brand fan. I take the cheaper side phones that i buy out in day of release or month after release and i look for bang for the price and hope for more compact phones.
                  '
Also i am not bitter cause iphone cost a lot or something like that. I can afford them but i dont have this type of mindset that throws money around without thinking. For my need of a phone and the how i use a phone just makes absolutely no sense what so ever to spend over 250-300 euro on anything. 300 euro is my highest point where i feel comfortable to buy the phone out when i go to shop and then use the phone for 3-5 years or sometimes longer. My Lumia 830 had screen defected and it last me less then 2 years so it was first Nokia that didnt last me long time while i was pretty much Nokia fan from the days of 2010, 1610 and so on the brick era

Flashback: GSMArena didn't do a 'Flashback' article for about 2 months.

Anonymous, 18 Sep 2022In before Apple fanboys saying Apple wait for tech to be pe... moreYeah, Android file manager is so awesome, it's why the good old meme about it is still floating around...

USER: Hey Android, where have you stored my files just now?
                      ANDROID: lol, I don't know

I'm sure you've connected your phone to PC and discovered the horror of browsing Android's file system... But sure, it's so much better. They were both bad and potentially, they've both improved significantly recently...

Anonymous, 18 Sep 2022In before Apple fanboys saying Apple wait for tech to be pe... moreOh no, now that you beaten them to it, it’s somehow no longer a valid point 🤦‍♂️

Isn't that already known fact that Apple is waiting when the technology is tested out and bugs being tweaked out by Android brands before they use it and call it innovation?

Also the notch part for 3 months is weird as it's not like Apple start to make the notch for there phones only 3 months before the phones release. It takes a few years for them to do something like that and these features are just on waiting list for future models. Like USB-C is added for 2025 phone models or something when that port is mandatory for EU release.

But is it really? There is tons of things that you can't just slap big numbers on paper and brag about them. Like Taptic Engine for example. There is no measurable way to tell everyone it's literally the best haptic feedback engine. Period. Full stop. Basically zero competition. And it has been consistently for years. Or speakers, sure, you can throw around dB of loudness, but none can quite capture how ridiculously full they sound on every single iPhone almost since beginning of time. Doesn't matter what iPhone you'll take, it's a guarantee, not an expectation. They haven't been throwing around big numbers for cameras either or displays. But can anyone show one iPhone where you can say "camera is bad" or "this had bad display"? There just isn't one. Even everyone moaning about XR's 60Hz LCD only 720p display BS. It's really very good. When it's so good that you can't differentiate any pixels, it's so bright you keep lowering it manually and is visible in almost any light, has exceptional viewing angles and color accuracy that even professional users wouldn't be ashamed of? Is that really a "bad" display just because it's not OLED or 100 million Hz? NO. Or OLED's on iPhone 13 or 14 non-Pro's. Sure, only 60Hz about which all Fandroids can't shut up about, but are those bad displays? Hell no. They were always one of the best. Notice the trend? It's not about throwing biggest numbers, it's about consistently delivering high quality components to a degree people almost don't have to read reviews about it. Unlike 300 billion variants of Android phones where they do such bizarre fluctuations in quality even within same product range it's ridiculous.

I almost can't tell you how annoying it is to be thinking of going with Android phone next year and thinking all the time if sound will even be good on a high end phone from brand X because they've screwed it up on several occasions before in terms of fluctuating the quality of components between models. Or mess up vibration motors on Galaxy S22. Basic things hardly any reviewer bothers to mention and it's one of really important things. I care about that. And that's what iPhones were good at for years and years now. Consistency of improvements, even if they are small and take longer to happen.

For Galaxy S23 next year, I'll have to see a review. For iPhone 15 next year, I already know for a fact it'll be great. Because iPhone 14 has been great and iPhone 13 has been great and iPhone 12 has been great and iPhone 11 has been great. Again, notice the trend again? But I'm sure some resident joker will find a way to whine about some nonsense like themes and dumb icons, because that's apparently all everyone cares about around here.

In before Apple fanboys saying Apple wait for tech to be perfected :/

5G, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, fast charging, AOD all have bene fine.

Lets not mention Apples file manager which took 10 or more years and its still useless compared to Androids.

Not everybody likes Iphone, not every does like android. But this article is not really necessary since Iphone is doing their own innovation, they don't care if they are late as long as they are still milking money.

The only useful thing on this list, is exactly the one still not used.

I think this article was unnecessary but okay, it'll just create even more chaos between android fans and iOS fans (or even neutral ones.)
Personally, i don't give a single care if Apple is late. As long as the technology works, it's considered as a nice feature.
Slapping in the face ,,but android was first" will not help anyone, it's just annoying.
