MarkusLeto, 21 Sep 2022Apple is also late in good battery tech.Well, I think Apple's battery is just fine, it is Apple's unwillingness (for $$$ reason) to provide any charger without an extra pay, let alone a fast charger (they make it though).

Anonymous, 20 Sep 2022Actually waiting for the bug fixing has been and still is a... moreIt's hard to believe that Apple hasn't still enabled "Tap the screen to take a photo"! Very inconvenient when you're taking a selfie by a large iOS device.
And, I think Apple hasn't fixed the format messup issue in their native mail app till date. If you forward an email using Outlook or Gmail, you will see that the format remains intact in the trailing mail. If you forward an email using the native mail app of iOS, the entire formatting will be converted to plain text.
These are not bugs, but everlasting disappointments.

Why not sticking around is a problem? I don't see a problem as a customer; it's an upside instead. I changed from Samsung to LG to realme to IQOO without issues because it's Android anyway. I could be able to enjoy the HW and SW features offered by different vendors; had dislikes, too (nothing is perfect in this world).
Lack of software support? Nope, it's not as bad as you think. Nowadays waiting forever for the bug fixing is a thing of the past in the Android domain.

mukhi, 20 Sep 2022So great that every year iPhone users slap their forehead t... moreIt's called "playing the long game". You don't make big drastic changes and you don't hurry people into buying latest and greatest (long software support). What you care is that users stick around. And iPhone users most certainly stick around. Not because they are fanboys, but because things reliably and steadily move forward and no one is pushing them anywhere to "upgrade".
Meanwhile Android phones, always huge drastic changes and lack of software support always pushes people to upgrade in much shorter intervals. And here's the more important part. No one "sticks" around. How often did you buy Android phone from same vendor in a row? Everyone is jumping between brands, switching them if one has few Hz more on the display or costs 20 bucks less. You pretty much won't see that with iPhone users. And Apple is well aware of that.

The notch part is actually far before those two Android phones, and it is started by Motorola with one of their feature phones back then (yeah, I forgot the model, sorry).

Yes they do and they buy them for their kids too
"Unsurprisingly, Apple dominates the premium segment of the smartphone market with a sizable 57% market share. When it comes to the $1000+ market segment, the Cupertino company commands a whopping 78%. Even more impressively, Apple has sustained a 114% year-on-year growth in that particular segment. "
