Samsung could bring Exynos-powered Galaxy S23 phones after all

AnonD-546724, 20 Sep 2022I wish it was how you lose customers & user base. Y... moreI think the main reason is how they conveniently hide the fact that Galaxy S22 in USA doesn't have same chipset as Galaxy S22 in Europe. They are both called exactly the same, most tech reviewers are from USA and people mostly watch those. And what they get? Info about how great Snapdragon version is and they think that's what they are getting in Europe. People here should not fool themselves thinking that masses of general users know a damn thing about anything. And I think this is how Samsung has been fooling European users for quite a while now. Serving us crap and pushing forward media and reviews about American version which has been better for years now.

I know difference is minor on a grand scheme, but if I'm often paying MORE than American users, why would I settle with ANYTHING less? If Exynos photos are slightly worse because of different ISP and if it lasts 2 hours less, that's already a problem. If European models were cheaper, I'd probably not even have an issue. But selling at same price under same name, yeah I have an issue with that.

SShock, 20 Sep 2022Who wants to bet they'll screw over European users aga... moreAs a person who had Galaxy S9, S20, S21 and a second hand Note 10 Plus for short time, all with Exynos, I can safely say that Exynos chipsets are sh*t. I will never buy an Exynos powered Samsung phone again, that's for sure.
Is sad, because One Ui is one of the most stables UI's out there. But the chipset is inferior and makes the phone laggy after some time. Also, the battery is very bad in this Exynos models.

That's the reason why buyers of these devices don't care about updates. Cheap phone, so they can change every year or two. And it won't get terribly slow in that time

Yey.....another inferior chipset that good chunk of people will be forced into using.......

Come on Samsung, unless you can actually make it work, just let it go.

Yet it seems the Only reason they managed to keep that up in the EU for so long, is because EU users appears to be A LOT LESS REGARDING about what's under the hood than, well, name another Exynos region.

                  Of course they will.

Oh no thats disaster ,pixel 6 is hka slow with axynos ship

Who wants to bet they'll screw over European users again? Thanks Samsung. This is how you lose users and you lose them for good. Was considering going with Galaxy S23 next year if it was powered by SD 8 Gen 2, hearing they want to stick crappy Exynos in it again, no thanks.

It seems landscape of high end models is really lame in recent years. May just as well buy a mid range Poco or Redmi every year and call it a day. I'll fiddle with new stuff and won't even matter if it gets no software support...

Many nerds here so mad about Exynos. They can't understand that the average user of Samsung flagship isn't a gaming monkey, such people use their smartphones for daily tasks and there's no difference, at least such people would not even notice any difference. Only think is worse for majority of S series customers in parts of the world with Exynos, is worse video quality than the version with Snapdragon.

Exynos! and here another galaxy to skip!

Sorry to disagree but have tried too many smartphones from Samsung to say that the QC is only slightly faster, or that the GPU Xclipse is faster than the one on the QC SoC. My experience with Exynos vs QC on real life use (not synthetic tests such as Antutu) is that QC SoC are much, much, much faster. And the Xcplise GPU might be more powerful but it is highly underclocked apparently due to heat dissipation issues, hence it renders again a very poor performance.

Whether Samsung admits that Exynos should stay in the mid-range or not will be an executive decision, not a reasonable decision.
