And we should take your words (in either case), because why? You just wrote some stuff after looking at some pictures. Quite subjective if you ask me.

One is the clear winner in low light conditions.I use my camera mostly at night and indoors.It's daylight performance is also above the completion .808 has a great camera but for that price I'd be happy to buy a DSLR(Just for clicking photos).I'll buy HTC one.

In dark lighting conditions, the HTC One much better than any smartphone camera. See link below:

Why not compare it to a real cameraphone like the Lumia 920 or Nokia 808 instead?
Why compare it to purplegate Iphone 5?

Have you compared the original images? If you do so, you will see that HTC One clearly outperformed iPhone 5 in all of them.

I think the camera of HTC One had to have the following configuration to be successful;
-Sensor with a size 8MP with Ultra pixels.
-Optics - Carl Zeiss ,Leica or Schneider Kreuznach.
-Xenon flash.
-Image stabilization.

Obviously they don't take issue with wrong exposure on the potrait picture captured with the iPhone5. HTC One done a better job there.
Why no night shoot comparison ????

Ok,same thing happened last year when i wasn't sure which phone to buy.for some good reason i choose one x,i was not sure about the camera,but..after a while having both of thrm,htc took incomparable more beautiful photos,much better in low light,stunning hdr's,and i am not talking about marketing stuff or others"proffesional"reviews,just in the real life.It was so good,i didn't took my point&shoot anymore,and my Ip5 gave it to my wife.very satisfied with htc.about this review..i like more of htc's,and..not sure how this photo were taken,but i bet they could do much better(not shaking hard the hand,upscale,downgrade..etc)

As a photographer i must say that the htc picture from cnet is a bit to compressed and overprocess (its a bit odd that they remove exif data so we are not sure if there are straight from the camera that way), and gsm arena ruined it even more by upscalling it and sharpening it. The right way is to downscale the bigger picture.
That said, hct picture is not to bad, its obvious low light advantage which extend even more with optical image stabilization. Over all htc picture are nothing revolutionary but are nice step in right direction.

Judge by the colour of the hair of the lady in picture. HTC brings out the real black colour of her hair. iPhone 5 bleached the hair. HTC wins.
