Phones with better spec has this trend of removing 3.5mm jack, Memory Card slot, FM from their feature list with a lame excuse of making port free/ water proof/ bigger battery phones. Motorola are the one who remained as a choice when someone required all those in a phone until recently. Slowly, motorola too is moving towards stripping the versatility of their phones, following the so-called powerful phones (from marketing monsters that can influence a large majority who don't use even 50% of their phone's processing capability all through its lifetime)

Dumb phones weren't connected... moreMan that dumb phone lasted 10 years easily and survived even hardest of falls.
No you can call it a smart phone can do that.
New phones last only as long as warranty and then you have to buy new one.
If you are lucky your phone will last 5-6 years at a time where it will be too old to run new apps smoothly as before.

So you have 80% chance your phone is chinese.
And if not most parts of the phone comes from china anyway.
Just like Apple. USA brand and nothing there comes from USA. All is China or better to say Foxconn made.

I checked Moto official website mentioned security patch update, clearly stated ends at Sep 2025, which is 3 years... Gsmarena mentioned 4 years, who is correct???

It took me a while to understand the Edge 30 Fusion, but I now look at it as a more premium G200. The Edge 30 Neo definitely piques my interest because of USB-C 3.1. The last time I saw it on a Snapdragon 600 series smartphone, it was on the Sony Xperia 10 Mk3.

Motorola used to be good.
But after Lenovo taking over, it has started releasing unwanted number of phones with absolutely no clarity on updates.
With edge 30 release, I have started thinking of giving a try to Motorola device.

I dont want to go back using Chinese phone again or phone with short term software support.
Now with Samsung i have choice either to change my phones after 2 years or to keep it for another 2 years by upgrading the OS.
My minimum standards now are picking between Samsung or Apple.

Honestly 2 years of updates or 5 years of updates dont do much anyway.
In past phone like Nokia 3310 had no updates at all and could last 10 years stuill working like nothing.
No current touchphone regardless of a brand could do the same tricks.
Most users like 80-90% buy their phones from their carries on a monthly plan which last 2 years then they sell their old phone or leave it as a secondary phone if something happens and get a new one so having 2, 3, 4, 5, or even more years of updates doesnt means much if phone hardware gets old and very old over time.
I cant speak for everyone but not very long ago there were a poll about how often people switch their phones to a new one and most used answer was 2-3 years.
Even for apple users because older phones looses more of their value and then noone gets enough money to buy new one in like instant.
