They thought, they suppose to replace "chrome os" tablet from android tablet as a future of new tablet's because android tablet's are declined away from ipads and Windows, then now major tablet's still runs android and Google is making a tablet back to android instead of chrome os. Why not android tablet's including Samsung tablet A's should move on to chrome os as a better PC compatibility? Is android tablet's os will be here to stay for future?

you have to suffer, 24 Sep 2022chromeos tablets are horrible. especially when OEMs put low... moreThere are plenty of options for higher end and midrange Chrome tablets and they are head and shoulders better than any Android tablet you can get besides the Tab S8 series. Definitely better than any iPad ever simply for the fact that they run full Chrome browser with all extensions and functionality. Not the lackluster mobile versions. Add in Linux/Steam support and it's a no brainer.

The lack of GPS would be a real deal breaker if you're looking to use it for any app or services that's dependent on GPS location

Just another side track for Google. They probably will discontinue making tablets by 2 years or so, and abandoned the project yet again. It has become risky buying hardware from Google as you don’t know how committed Google is to the lineup.

If I were you, I'd buy a FreeDOS or used Windows laptop and install my preferred desktop Linux distro. The only thing that differs between Android and ChromeOS is desktop Linux compatibility, but even that doesn't feels great to use.

On my android tablets I can always chroot to a Linux disto and actually do stuff. On top of having better screens (amoled often) and smaller footprint.

It's the removable battery that is unsolvable (once your sealed battery dies, and it always does, I.e. does not hold serious charge any ore), you are forced to do a serious operation merely to keep the lights on on your phone for thatmuch longer

Went from an old iPad to a Samsung 5e tablet , what a mistake ! Lags , full of bloat and updates are at best every 6 months. Waiting for the next iPad….

But you are right about low-end hardware, I always see that even for sub-$400 Chromebook laptops.
