Feem, 24 Sep 2022You know, being the tech-savvy country India is, I’m a bit ... moreThe reason being when Jio(telecom company) launched in India in 2016,when the prices companies were charging was nearly 250 Rupees or 3 Dollars for 1 GB data and Jio bring it down to just nearly 3 Rupees or 4 cents per 1 GB.So for some years the profit margins in this remained very less and the telecom companies like Jio,Airtel,Vodafone,Idea, etc had not that money to invest in 5G infrastructure for a long .Even they were barely floating, and subsequently raised prices to have some profit margins. So thats why the advancement in 5G in India remained a little slow. But still the cost of Mobile data in India is one of the lowest in the world. This answers your question.

kek, 24 Sep 2022Now Indians will go from "5G is overrated 😤" to &... moreWe already have 4G+ covered in most urban areas, it's same infrastructure just a fly by wire software update, what we don't have is a lot of satellite like US have, fibers are not yet at rural India.

kek, 24 Sep 2022Not only India, most countries suffer from this issue, and ... moreWhether some radio waves gets blocked by mountains/buildings depends on the frequency. Higher the frequency, greater the blockage. It has nothing to do with 5G/4G/3G/2G.

If you run 2G at frequencies like 2~4 GHz, it would get equally blocked. On the other hand, you can deploy 5G below 1000MHz and it won't get blocked by mountains/buildings, but the actual frequency used depends on the country as the RF spectrum is severely overcrowded.

You know, being the tech-savvy country India is, I’m a bit surprised they get 5G now.
I know it’s not so developed and I probably sound ignorant, but I figured that the love for tech in that country amongst intelligent students and youth would’ve made helped create 5G in India at least a couple of years ago.
                    Just curious.

Oh yeah, more toxic people from Telegram groups

This is where 3.5G wins, and same for 3G (although its really slow for videos, it works for messages and web browsing).

Techgeek91, 24 Sep 2022India's 4g services are not as fast as compare to fore... moreIts due to more population density but also the lower band quality. When 4g was new, speeds were much faster and even late nights its faster.
But with 5g a lot of those problems will be fixed because more towers will be placed at shorter distances than 4g. (hopefully)

We been having 5G since 2020 B.C. once we get 6G tomorrow. India will have 6G in 4040.
