Eee, 25 Sep 2022There are better sounding items than the arias.Ofcourse there are but they're more expensive.

My wired iems are either bass centric or detail centric, having also planars with little to no competition, the rest became boring to me.
Most importantly, if you travel, you want iems that can do ANC.

It's better to get the SE and tune it a little bit from the app on your phone or player than having a distortion from the start.

once I learned that basically any good wired earbuds wrap the cord behind your ear, I said nope and left.

Was genuinely considering the aria or starfield for a while, but between the cord thing, harmon being rather tinny even for a monitor, and the paint chipping

I just got nekocake. the very slight hiss when nothing is playing is actually nicer than feeling like your ability to hear was just torn away because you can't perceive a normal sound floor after jamming out. I just get a ten dollar pair of skullcandy to game with, even 50ms lag is wholly unacceptable. tried chu bc I like moondrop's weeb vibe, but gunshots hurt. it's too metallic. it would be good for like heavy metal tho where the highs get crushed short of the hats and crashes and you need clarity around 700Hz-6KHz

Kato or one of their more insane series like Solis are definitely worth the money.

both aria and generally most monitors are kinda meh unless you have an actual eq somewhere in the chain. you don't have to give up body just to be accurate. and in the regard of listening and not music production, monitors are basically trash without an eq.

it really surprises me most phones don't have an eq somewhere in settings considering how bad phone audio actually is. thousand dollar flagships with worse audio processing than a two decades old Dell Latitude laptop... the one with the lil nub mouse on the keyboard. yeah, that one. side note phone eqs also act very weird, with the highest boosted frequency muting out others. that's not how it's supposed to work. that's neither analog nor digital eq behavior... it's just weird.

like just give me an eq and the 3.5mm back, you could make anything sound better than monitors for the price of eating at mcdonald's these days (one burger is 10 bucks lmao fuck these socialists in power here in the states)

Moondrop, if only your paint didn't chip easily. Like, stop using paint and start use anodizing and e-coating like keyboard.

How about the QC issues of the iem's paint and cable brading? people say that the paint could easily damaged, and at some point the cable's brading could really dry out. After all that issues is it still worth to buy aria? or maybe we could just try dunu titan S

One thing i would say from my experience with moondrop is QC. they need to fix their filter. it keeps jamming and one of the sides always get reduced in volume. it happened with my stardust and chu frequently to a point where i have to take off the filter all together

Moon drop are a revelation in the portable Audio industry, they make excellent products

Got the normal Aria when it came out. Definitely agree that it's one of the easiest entry iems to recommend
