This repairability thing really sounds nice. The regional availability tho. Hmm, leaves something to be desired.

I hope some real hands on reviews in a week from reputable review sites. Tired of these wannabes with partial or fake reviews.

GAMIR3DH, 27 Sep 2022Too bad those are sold for companies only...No there not stop talking guff I could of bought one the other day from Samsung

If only Samsung can make this kind of design for regular consumer phones. We definitely need to see wider repairability philosophy like what Fairphone has been doing for ages.

The FP4 is no doubt easier to disassemble, that is one of its main selling points. But the difference does not seem that big. The video notes that all screws are Phillips screws - like in the FP4. (I'd actually prefer Torx...) They use a spudger in some places on the X6P in the video, but Fairphone actually does so in their own videos, too. Neither company guarantees against water intrusion (lame), nor does their warranty cover disassembly screw-ups.

Fairhope 4 is a fine idea as is the xcover 6 pro.

Which will be usable and intact in 3-5 years I'm not sure, but I have an inclination towards the xcover.

the fairphone has inside the box, one screwdriver. Anyone can easily repair this device. With samsung we must visit a service repair center with special tools and extra cost for the job. This condition is not "high repairability rating"

This proves phones can be made waterproof and fast while having removable batteries, headphone jack, microSD card and also easy repairability. So no excuse, especially you Samsung, you contradicted yourself by releasing this phone. Why don't you do same for S series like you used to? At least give us a S active like u did.
Complaining about size and weight? Why none complains when flagship devices weigh more than this and also larger and unusable with one hand too. Too much hypocrisy.

Zakalwe, 27 Sep 2022To be fair, the Fairphone 4 has no IP68 even before opening it...the title is " ....scores high repairability rating in disassembly", not for IP rating. At this point of view, the gap between samsung and fairphone is huge - for how easy is to open the samsung.
Please keep in mind the follow ... the technique to open the samsung is
                        1. we must apply heat at 120 degrees Celsius to take off the screen. This high temperature is not good that extend life of device and this procedure is not easy for multiply the device opening

" it comes with compromises" .

Yes of course it does, but the essential news is:

that it's a great sustainable durable modern mobile, that most ordinary people should support, for their own and their children sakes.

fake score of 8/10 for the samsung. The ifixit gave 10/10 for the fairpfone 4, this is the right. For the samsung maybe 4/10 is fair. Devices with glued parts (screen), are not guaranteed for not damaged while opening or to keep having IP68 after reassembling
