It works on the old motherboards? How kind of them

Aziz soft tech, 28 Sep 2022Always the best in class. but I want new Xeon processor for... moreWell, the "best combo" has been Team Aqua (Intel CPU + Nvidia GPU).
While the better value has been Team Fire (AMD CPU and ATi GPU).
...at least since 2010 with the first-gen Core-i, and GTX-600, the industry has been stagnant.

That changed in early-2018 with Zen2 CPU and RDNA-1 GPU, which was offering similar (or better) overall performance-per-watt, compared to Intel-9th CPU and RTX-20 GPU.
Then in late-2019 the clear winner was Team Red with Zen3 and RDNA-2, versus the Intel-11th CPU and RTX-30 GPU. Now in late-2022, competition is heating up again, with Intel-13th and RTX-40 on the way, and it looks like Team Red will still hold unto the lead with Zen4 and RDNA-3.

I haven't seen any benchmarks yet, but my initial instinct is that the 13600K looks a bit overpriced. The others look like to be priced pretty competitively. I've typically supported AMD whenever it was reasonable. Both companies are doing well in the CPU space now so it's exciting for Intel to release a product I might actually buy. I haven't built an Intel rig since P4 400Mhz FSB. That was my first build ever.

You can be absolutely certain that AMD has a 7950X3D ready in the wings if they need it. This way AMD get the next 4 months to flog the 7950X before the a big mid Gen upgrade

Not interested in this gen at all. Waiting for the 5nm nodes and with all video codecs embedded into chip in 2024 or 2025.

Currently it's a big gap with AMD, power/perf ratio.

Why i would use Xe Graphics instead of 3060 Ti? They are pretty good on mobile, but completely outscaled by desktop GPUs.

at least they didn't pull an amd and made it only to work with ddr5, and i hope the i3 is getting some love this time cause that one is going to sell the most if they gave it few extra threads and e cores, i also hope they don't abandon the i3 like amd did with ryzen 3 in 5000/7000 series...
