People would rather get the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 model over the Dimensity 9000+.

The only explanation that makes some sense is of they made the Dimensity variant due to the chip shortage/to get the Rog 6's more widely distributed ala Samsung's exynos vs snapdragon scheme.

    Yeah, this would have made sense if the 8+ gen 1 was just as hot and hungry as the 888 and 8 gen 1 vanilla, and if the D9000 got better performance and power consumption figures.

    As it stands, the 8+ gen 1 is an upgrade to the D9000 in most appreciable ways, and the Vanilla ROG 6 runs cool enough for most uses. Maybe they planned a Dimensity variant due to the chip shortage? If no one wants the Dimensity variant, what's the point though?

      1. Competition is better, and always comsumer win when there is competition.
      2. Some people just want phone for mmorpg, grinding and competitive online matches it doeant matter which version they use.

          Well, I will always get the best value for money/cost per performance ratio gaming phone which is found in BlackShark gaming phones.

          Rog phones are good but, its too pricey I'll just buy a gaming laptop instead. Happy with my Blackshark 5Pro.

              It's like someone at Asus decided to make a rog with dimensty 9000+ and everyone agreed.

              What's the goal ?
              What's the market for this phone ?
              Who told you people want Dm 9000+ over snapdragon ?

              As if they made this phone as a favor for Mediatek.

                Anyone who was already interested in buying a ROG Phone already had with Snapdragon when it was launched. Sending same thing but with different chipset out on the market and not get same or better sales just shows how someone doesn't seem to understand things.

                  Its a gaming phone, ofc ppl would pick the best performing GPU on snapdragon, they have less care about CPU performance. If RDNA2 were successful in exynos combo, gamers would jump to it.

                          Truth is that if I would give someone phone with Dimensity and said its Snapdragon they would not see the difference in gaming or even using it everyday... Bias at it finest...

                              most others don't bother with the higher end, but if they did they'd stomp on Dimensity
