        ProRAW format is Apple's way of combining ACTUAL and TRUE RAW photo with all the processing INCLUDED in same DNG container, but all available as optional separate layers. This means you not only have RAW photo available, you also have all the camera information included that's otherwise not included in classic RAW file (which is just raw sensor data and nothing else). DNG also uses lossless compression, which is why ProRAW are smaller than regular RAW while retaining 1:1 quality (which is what lossless compression is).

                  The app still doesn't actually take raw photos. It post-processes the photo and compresses the photo, then converts that compressed/processed photo into DNG. It's the dumbest thing.

It keeps happening with phones all the time, minor hardware or software bugs here and there but this is a serious problem that was found in Samsung phones. Check whosetheboss video on the same
