they just look at the "basic specsheet" like ghz, ram, rom...
these kids are from so yesterday, not knowing what optimisation is... so they buy the idea that faster is always better 🤣

I love how people here want price of any device to be according to SoC, not according to what phone has.
I love even more to here those that think phone would be $250-300 by trading high end SoC for midrange one, when price difference of chipsets are not even $50.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2022yeah but should also be priced accordingly I mean, the 7 at $600 isn't half bad. Heck, if the rumors are true about the $340 Pixel Watch being a pre-order bonus for the Pro, that makes it much better value than iPhones.

No 3.5mm jack no buy, 06 Oct 2022Seriously, how could someone defend performance being 2 gen... moreThe Snapdragon 888/8 gen 1 has many serious issues and was never a great chipset to use in any smartphone or tablet. The Tensor G2 doesn't have to be as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 but hopefully doesn't overheat and has a better battery life than the Snapdragon 8 gen 1.🤡😇🤭

Dometalican, 06 Oct 2022Considering Google's history of underclocking the Qual... moreWell said. Nobody buys Google phones for raw performance.
As for thermals, yeah I seriously hope they will be better than on the P6P. During hot summer days my unit would reach 42 degrees Celsius in a matter of 10 minutes of light usage (web browsing, Telegram etc). Now that the temperatures outside are much lower, the phone won't go past 35 degrees which is acceptable I guess, but I still expect improvement. I don't like when my phone gets so hot that it literally becomes uncomfortable to hold.

Considering Google's history of underclocking the Qualcomm flagship chips, this is no surprise.
The best part? It's plenty performance for 95% of the user base. As long as they got the thermals under control and the efficiency is up, it's perfectly fine for my wife whom I'm getting this for.
