The steam deck already nearly obsolete base PS4 performance from 2013 in 2022 and crappy 720p IPS screen

The steam deck so badly designed and poor battery and joy stick drift low storage problems and user unfriendly steam os

Valve also benchmark and test send out too reviewer's the steam deck with dual sided SSD but now new steam deck buyer's will get half the bandwidth and just crappy ssd with awful performance problems

Gaming laptops are just so much better able too run games at or above 1080p 60fps

Gaming laptops have mobile rtx 3080 rtx 3080ti i9 CPU
And often 240hz screens or more or 4k screen

Or gaming smartphone with 144hz or 165hz oled screen and possibly more powerful Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus processors

              I have no intentions getting the Steam Deck anymore because I'm just not into modern gaming. But I do think it's superior to a Switch because Nintendo acts like Apple. Expensive and part of a walled garden.

              The only reason I'll keep my Switch Lite is because I got it as such a bargain. But I find Breath of the Wild extremely boring and overrated. I'll buy a few games for it but I expect it will spend a lot of time unused.

              The way to go for me is emulation on Android. I can live playing games from 1985-2005 forever.

However, it's normal for me to play a game continuously for 4 to 5 hours, so 1 to 2 hours isn't enough for me. It seems that for some reason, you try to convince me to think the same as you. Honestly, I don't understand why you try to do that. If I think the same as you, you'll be happy? That's very weird.

                      The point is you can play a lot more games than a switch, at much better resolution and framerates if you only want 1-2 hr battery life, or dial down and get same or better battery than the switch. The switch is unable to do this.

Why would I use a setting I don't want to use? Also, even if you use 30 fps, the battery life is still mediocre for some demanding games. Forza Horizon 5, for example, lasts only 115 minutes when you use 30 fps.

                        I don't understand what you're trying to achieve. Don't you want a successor of the Steam Deck to have better battery life?

I don't fancy carrying a hefty portable PC and a power bank around. Using a power bank at home without attaching it to a Steam Deck will restrict my movement, and in that case, it's better to just plug a Steam Deck to a power outlet. Anyway, I don't know what point you're trying to make. My point is that the battery life of the Steam Deck is mediocre. That's all.

Using 30 fps to get decent battery life isn't really a choice. It's a workaround. I know what a power bank is, but I don't want to use it. The Steam Deck is hefty as it is.

                                    How is it not a choice on the deck? I just explained how you do it. You have no way of doing that on switch.


                                    You dont have to stop playing to plug in a power bank, it'll keep it charged while you game. I guess you never step out much where there are no outlets that you needed a powerbank.
