WhatsApp will support 1,024 participants per group

1024 members is still low. WhatsApp has great potential. I know Facebook doesn't want a feature that directly competes with Facebook Groups, but they can introduce WhatsApp Communities or WhatsApp Super Groups that can accommodate over 500,000 members like Telegram Channels/Groups.

Many people are on WhatsApp and use it more to get information relevant to them than Facebook Groups. I have a Facebook Group with over 200,000 members and most requested that we set up a WhatsApp Group.

What they don't understand is WhatsApp Groups only permit 256 members and managing multiple groups on WhatsApp isn't practical. Efforts to push Telegram as an ideal solution has turned futile.

WhatsApp Super Groups can be introduced as a premium feature. I will be ready to pay. Organizations that are trying to push people on Telegram because of its super groups feature, will surely jump on board because almost everyone is on WhatsApp.

          But ok now it makes sense. We'll see just how much they add. Maybe 2,000 would be the limit.

            And this can be used elsewhere as well, potentially. It can be about neighbourhood. It can be about some other matters that require swift communication and group updates.

            I'm sure Tories would appreciate it as well at the time of covid. So many "friends" waiting for a good sweet deal on PPE.

              Means more political, religious hate and fake messages.

                          I used to mock Telegram over Whatsapp, but now it's clear Telegram is so much better than Whatsapp. One problem is users around me are still more on Whatsapp than Telegram. Otherwise Telegram has much better features than Whatsapp.

                            A thousand people in a group?? There'd be message alerts nonstop. This is crazy
