just wanting to pick the opportunity to say
*THANK YOU*
for GSMARENA's own GREAT camera test tool, that i personally favour the most when attempting to make up my mind about phone camera's quality.
Suprising insights at times, and it fully takes into account, that some aspects are simply up to personal taste, which most of the reviews simply can't.

Moleingang, 16 Oct 2022I tested S22 flagship with iphone 13pro, iphone did better ... moreAnd I tested my S21 Ultra against a IPhone 13 Pro Max (taking the same shots in the same lighting from the same spot) of a colleague and the Iphone shots are not that good. Yellow tint in most shots and the exposure and Dynamic range was way off compared to the real scene.
Guess it comes down to the preference and the person using it in most scenarios.

I tested S22 flagship with iphone 13pro, iphone did better jobs in most scenario.
This is why ppl still going to chose iphone over any other flagship

Porting of GCam wad more to do with ease of porting as well as the fact that Google achieved great photos, from average or below average hardware, after a while. Which helped smartphones with better hardware, but inferior software. Also, the portability provided a free app, with promise, under many challenging environments.
Google doesn't have to sell any personal data (I am not saying it does or does not), because that would be unnecessary, considering its field of influence, and its history of dominance and misuse. It already is the largest controller of Ad Sales online. If TikTok didn't arrive on the scene, youtube's monopoly would also be disturbing. Hundreds of thousands of youtube channels and millions of subcribers have been banned, for having views different from a single forced narrative. And it isn't even political, left vs right alone. It's across all fields from science to movies, to everything in between.
Google dominant position in Ads, youtube and Search alone indicate how easily it can, and probably has, misused it's dominance.
You're living in a cave to beoeive otherwise.

DXOMARK isn't wrong but you have to read the caveats on their rankings, which depend on use cases. People used to professional/pro-am photography have different criteria and different preference. That doesn't make them right or wrong.

Have had both recent I Phone & Pixel (both from /for work). The Pixel is a huge surprise as wasn't expecting much. Before work used the Samsung. Must say after using both Apple & Google phones side by side. Much prefer the Pixel. Both are excellent phones. However the Pixel does h
Take better pics, is much more programmable to make itore personal and yours. Cell reception better on the Pixel, never drops calls where as the I Phone does. In use both are about equal in speed. The kicker is the Price. Never realized how much less expensive the Pixel was. If paying myself Pixel would be the only choice...

The Pixel 7 Pro is overall the best Android phone. The 6 Pro was close to being the best.
There is noise, but overall it's the best camera on the Android side. Hope Google tames the noise.

Hopefully, someone in the family will want it ... can't imagine someone buying it separately for €429.

I got the Pixel Watch LTE with it. Yes, an unreal deal compared to the preorder offers that they are running in the US ($200 gift card) and some. other countries. I think France and Germany also had this Pixel Watch offer.

Very reflective of the phones I've purchased anyway and until I read one that is not reflective, I'll maintain the same opinion. You have a different opinion. That's fine. I'll continue to read their reviews and use them as a valuable source of information when purchasing a new phone
