4080 12 gb has bus width of 192 bits only equivalent of a 60 series cards which makes it closer to a 4060ti!
Ngreedia truly tried to rip of people this time.

rizki1, 15 Oct 2022$1200 graphic card to play Cyberpunk at 4K? why not cheaper PS5?You know that new gen console play games at either 1080p 120fps or 4k 30fps right? It is most common sense!

Based on die size the 4080 16gb should have been called the 4070, and the 4080 12gb should have been called the 4060. There is no proper 4080 yet. Nevertheless, they're asking for $500 more for a 4070, I mean 4080 16gb.

Shame on anyone who buys a 4000 series card. Ypu are the cancer. You are the virus.

Now they will call it 4070 ti and it will cost 900$. Then rtx 4060 will cost 600$. Good job nvidia. Exactly what the fans asked for. What a joke. This time il wait for amd. Nvidia too greedy.

DP, 15 Oct 2022rtx 3080 also has a 10GB and 12GB version just sayingbut they had the same specs but one with 10GB and other with 12GB ... as for 4080 12GB is a cut down in spec rather than just memory difference when you compare it with 16GB version

The 4080 12GB has less CUDA cores and is altogether different from the 16GB version.

The difference is equal to that of the 3080 vs. 3080 TI.

Nvidia seriously need to reimburse all those board partners for their 'unlaunch' debacle. After all, it was they who named the board, then realised that they were conning their customers with an inferior version of their premium card, and then decide that a renaming of the card (so late in its release stage) would be the best (for them) thing to do. Pay up Nvidia, you owe people money for your incompetence and greed...

Yeeeah, I'm just gonna stick with my RTX 3080 for a while. Basically anything I play runs at 100fps all maxed out 1400p and that's without any DLSS/FSR/XeSS. With it, it's pretty much locked to my display refresh rate of 144Hz. I wouldn't mind RTX 4080 or 4090, but not at price and power, not to mention I just don't need it. I already have my gaming room super quickly hot from RTX 3080, I can't imagine RTX 4090 furnace in same conditions.

In two generations, RTX 6060 should be like 4x faster than RTX 3080 at lower power and I'll swap then lol. Or AMD might surprise us with RDNA3 cards next month. We'll see.

Why give money to a dirty company like Nvidia?

An old R9 Fury can still run modern games.

It probably will end up being called the 4070 because of the performance differences.

Nah. I'll rather wait for the 24GB TI version. This here is too weak for my solitaire.!
