Does this mean no more vanilla OnePlus releases?

Inflation and chip shortage

I love my OnePlus phones and I'm still stuck on my 8 Pro, despite trying out other brands in recent years. Apart from the OS shift towards ColorOS, the company still gets my thumbs up.

I was an iPhone user a few years ago and refused Android phones because they were super buggy back in the day. Nowadays, I refuse to go back to iPhones as the Android experience has been brilliant. It all depends on what phone you buy.

This could be interesting, they'll either release 2 really good flagship or 1 good/1 decent flagship or worse 2 bad flagships.

Not like Android where I couldn't even buy a frigging coffee from a vending machine because the NFC is dum as a brick and couldn't negotiate a frigging payment. What good is some sideloading or custom ROM's when it can't seem to do basics. I was about to grab an Android phone and I dropped that idea right now if crap is this unreliable. Could be older Android phone, but it could just as well just be "Android" meaning they'll all behave like this.

Good move, this way, the T variant upgrade isn't on cheaper model. Like 10T which has 8+ gen 1 instead of 10 pro 8 gen 1 but they have to underclock it to match 10 pro, which is very weird.

If this will turn up to be true, is a nice move.
Just release 3-4 models per year. 11 (flagship), 11T (upper mid-ranger), 11 Lite (lower mid-ranger) and maybe some low-end model. That's it.
Why the need of Chinese manufacturers to release model after model with similar names or rebrand existing models?
But, I am probably just dreaming with open eyes.

Well less devices each year means less E-Waste and more sales of the expensive ones.
Oneplus back ago was just one phone a year or two phones.
Not needed gazzilions of other products like Xiaomi, Samsung, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo or Realme is pushing.

I guess the name change somewhat makes sense since there wasn't a vanilla OnePlus 10 that launched alongside the 10 Pro - it was just the 10 Pro (the 10R released a few months later).

...actually, they technically already did this name change with the 10T - it wasn't called the 10T Pro or 10T+ because there wasn't a 'vanilla' 10T to go alongside it.

very good. there is still some brand naming their phone pro with no pro features.

OnePlus just give us solid reliable phones back again. No brand that tried to copy apple has succeeded

The moment they removed metal frame from flagship, it was a goodbye from me to OnePlus. This is me being a OP user who also bought their very first phone as well. Now they're just another phone spamming bbk brand

Since there was never anything Pro about it, one plus is right.

Should make no more than 4 phones per year. Flagship, lite version with 7g1 and two nord devices with 6g1 and 4g1.
                                        And no rebranding ....
