Amazon now lets you register interest for the Google Pixel 7a

A bit premature isn't it? Or is it? The retailer makes no mention of a launch date, but it does talk of a "Pixel 7a family" as if there is more than one model.

Sort by:

Pixel 6a would be perfectly fine for those 379EUR they ask for it on amazon.de, if:

1) they made it at least 1-2mm narrower, now it's already quite big, 5a was even bigger and 4a was great except it has crap battery and asymetric punch hole

2) Google would stop disabling 5G in unofficial markets where 5G clearly works

Then I would be willing to risk mediocre Pixel built quality and hardware issues.

      Only naive kids buys beta phones for full price.

            The best pixel phones are the A phones. Small size and good build quality 👌 Even Samsung moved back to cheap glass for the back which is boring. Glass sandwich design is boring

                If Google put out a Google Pixel 7 Mini Pro/Ultra, I would be ready to pay over 1000€ for it.
                Smaller Android phones are always worse in some ways, for example the Zenfone 9 is cool and all but lacks telephoto so I would never buy it. Pixel 7? Lacks telephoto too. No LTPO (this I don't really care about, but some people do). Samsung S22? Unusable due to terrible battery life.

                Those who want telephoto on their device are ALWAYS forced to buy a huge phone. Not cool.

                iPhones are out of the question for me because I want to be able to install third party apps such as Instander or YouTube Revanced.
