The A52 5G was an anomaly, a mid-range phone with a Snapdragon processor, a headphone jack, FM radio, MST, and a MicroSD card slot. It sold out quickly.
The A53 5G is a budget phone. For $199 (in the U.S.) you can't expect a Qualcomm processor or high performance. At least it has an 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a MicroSD card slot. It's still probably the best sub-$200 phone available.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2022Why did they downgrade the megapixels of the main camera?Because megapixels just don't matter. The sensor may shoot pictures with less resolution, but the overall quality will be much better since the sensor may be bigger, the optics may be improved and a long etc.

And it's just a really well rounded package on a small budget. Oh and it also gets Samsung's almost legendary 4+1 years of updates which is crazy for a 230€ phone.

Samsung needs custom made Moongose Soc back, theseSoc outclassed snapdragon by 15%, even down clocked Cpu too beat snapdragon is insane. Moongose and Apple Soc were in the same league

The reason everyone hated it is because Samsung pulled the switcharoo of chipset within same phone model. For Galaxy S22, US got SD 8 Gen1 and EU got Exynos 2200. For same price, even though Exynos is slightly worse. So, why should Europeans pay same for slightly worse chipset? The outrage was out of principle and rightfully so. If Exynos 2200 was found in Galaxy S22 FE, an entirely separate model and main S22 had only SD 8 Gen1, no one would have a problem. But using different chipsets for same phone model is dirty.
