Super Android 22, 24 Oct 2022Man I love when someone has no actually relative points, ge... moreBecause it is. It just doesn’t matter what cable it is and they cost peanuts. Meanwhile to get these wireless speeds you need specific bulky and expensive charger, otherwise it just doesn’t matter.

If Qi was standardized for auch speeds it would be cool as you could then get those speeds anywhere. This way it’s just cool as a concept and in theory, but isn‘t really useful in practice because of these limitations. I can only see it useful for use at home for someone with disability and they can’t physically plug cable because of it.

I wonder if instead of having a 100000w super ultra mega faster charging speed, wouldnt it be better to divide the battery in more cells and charge them at the same time ? so you charge like the same let's say 5A battery in less time and won't heat as much

SShock, 24 Oct 2022This article and debate is about wireless charging Karen.Man I love when someone has no actually relative points, get proven wrong so they start slinging insults like a school ground bully... Haha funny funny person 😂.

OK mag safe charger from apple is £45 (not universal). Only way to get full speeds which is still only 15w, otherwise it drops to about 5-10w on 3rd party ones again and partner owned an iPhone 11 and now an iPhone 13, my Huawei wireless charger with cable cost me £40 over a year ago and charges at 40w max which she uses. So go buy apple charger or 3rd party cheap charger that'll max at 10w and pay same or more for less compatability and slower speeds, great advice buddy good job 👍

I it's a dead cable only supported by iPhones and even then the newer apple chargers are type C to lightning (that's what was supplied in my partners iPhone 13 box, type C to lightning cable, so she can't use it because she has no charger which has a type C port, my find X5 charger is type A to type C so again fully universal at this point).

SShock, 24 Oct 2022That's nonsense. No one demands that you use original ... moreShows how much in denial you are then lol so really no argument here. 3rd party chargers won't be supplying the full charge speeds to the devices, not on any planet or any reality and they still cost £15-20. Again my Oppo suoervooc 80w charger was free, in the box with the cable and my Huawei 66w charger I bought for £30 with the cable supplies atleast 30w of power so still more than an apple charger (which you were arguing is cheaper and the lightning cable is cheaper, €4 from what you said right?)

Super Android 22, 24 Oct 2022The lightning cable costs between £20-£35 pounds (UK) , a 5... moreThat's nonsense. No one demands that you use original Apple charger, which makes your argument entirely irrelevant. You need Oppo's specific charger to get these speeds however. Also cables most certainly don't cost that much. Again, who says you need to buy original Apple cable? Sure Lightning is a proprietary connector standard, but there is absolutely TONS of 3rd party cables that work just fine and don't cost that much.

SShock, 24 Oct 2022Lol, just shows how daft you people are. We're talking... moreThe lightning cable costs between £20-£35 pounds (UK) , a 5w apple charger costs £20 so nope, actually more expensive per watt and completely dead cable than a 50w+ charger with type C cable which is universal at this point (can also support up to thunderbolt 4 too). Same for Samsung and Google, they have the slowest chargers yet cost the most (and you have to buy the newest charger off those companies to get the best speeds, don't supply them now do they?). FYI my find X5 came with its 80w charger and cable and an Oppo design case... For free.

BTW those prices weren't from apple store directly, I'm pretty sure if you go to their store you'll be paying an extra £5-10 for the cable and about £40 for the 20w charger or whatever slow speeds it does

Also no, some passive cheap component like cable can't possibly be compared to an expensive proprietary super specific wireless charger that costs 78€. Compared to some lightning cable that costs like 4€. Totally comparable. Not to mention it's easier to carry some cable with you than whole wireless charger.

Sure, one could argue Lightning cable being proprietary falls under the same problem, but it just doesn't due to size and cost difference.

Android remans the OS of choice for most people for this exact reason. It just works and works better than trash can operating system like iOS

Also yes, this is pointless because when you go the length of having such specific tech to charge single brand at higher speeds, how is it any different than plugging in a cable? What hassle does a wireless charger saves when you can only have it at home and it's apparently too difficult to plug it in on a cable? I can think of just one situation of a person with disability who can't plug in cable physically, but they can place phone on wireless charger. But then, if motor skills are so hindered, can they really use a smartphone at that point?

It's pointless if it's proprietary tech because you can't charge at same speeds in a car's wireless charger or at coffee shop's one. Then what's the point? Are you going to carry this one with you? At which point, is it too hard to plug in a cable at this point?

you have to suffer, 24 Oct 2022only concerning issue is the heat.Nah its good dude I wouldn't worry, she also keeps her phone under her pillow which you'd think wouldn't be good (only on wired, doesn't have wireless charger under her pillow lol). They design chargers so well now I'm pretty sure they have power and voltage limits to stop it hitting a certain temp (so if it is getting say to 40c it'll half the charge speed and voltage till it can ramp up again) 😊
