Anonymous, 22 Oct 2022I bet you will be the first to complain when you don't... moreI'm actually NOT looking forward to the new OS/oneui update this month on my S22 Ultra because chances are I'll have to reset the phone to make it smooth again (after a major OS update), which is a lot of wasted time to get the phone back to how it was...for an update I won't notice the difference.

There will always be bugs, besides, automatic updates are never sent out to entire world even with Apple. It's just if you go and manually check for update for it to show up. So, users doing manual check for update are the ones who would notify the vendor of bigger problems anyway and automatic updates come days or weeks later.
It's the availability, not when everyone is getting it automatically. Because I've had few Samsungs and updates just wouldn't show up at all even if you check manually. And that's the annoying part. I want update now, not 3 weeks down the road when Samsung wills to allow me.

The point of staged roll-outs is to observe if anything is going wrong in the wild that was not caught in the beta testing period or internal QA, so they can stop the release and fix the issue before it's too late.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2022I agree. Even mid rangers are great.GSMArena's review of Galaxy A33 states it's suppose to get 4 years of major OS updates and extra year of security updates only. Given how you basically don't get ANY updates on chinese phones for such price/range, this is indeed impressive.

Samsung wasn't the first to offer the latest Android version, but it will at least update the latest Android version on the largest number of models within this year, further cementing the fact that it is the number one Android smartphone.
