    - They've been using junk 2MP cameras since the Note 7, it's more of an inevitability than anything.
    - It depends from person to person if they like curved screens or not, and even then, (I think) the standard Pro will have a flat screen - so at least you have an option to choose between flat or curved if the specs for both phones are similar.
    - The chip isn't terrible, but I agree that they should've gone for a better one instead of using basically a slightly more powerful 920.

Was this some sort of China exclusive or something? I'd generally prefer a Redmi device over Poco, but there just isn't one. Only regular 11 Pro and Pro+. Which both run Dimensity 920. Poco X4 GT runs Dimensity 8100 which is in its own class entirely.

          Looks suspiciously like Poco X4 GT. Dunno why they always use rubbish chipsets on Redmi models and better cameras and on Poco they always use better chipsets and poor cameras.

          X4 GT with Dimensity 8100 is excellent performance wise, but with cameras, it's on mediocre side. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ with Dimensity 920 just felt underwhelming compared to 8100 which I think is excellent chipset.

The chip is a lot worse as the previous model had the dimensity 8100 so the dimensity 1080 is a pretty big downgrade. However, the previous model had the GW1 with OIS for the main sensor so the IMX766 is a pretty big upgrade. Xiaomi announced last year that this is their strategy for the Redmi note series Chinese models. 2 models a year. One focused on performance and one focused more on Camera and general all round balance. They will sell both models at the same time. I think it's a good move as it gives users a choice to go for performance or other features. For example this year, those focused on performance that are looking for a Redmi phone can go for the 11T pro/pro+. Those that want better camera performance and oled screens but care less about performance can go for the 12pro/12 pro+. They did the same last year with the Note 10 pro China variant (performance focused) and the Redmi Note 11 pro China variant (focused on screen and slightly better camera but with much weaker performance). Of course the global models are always different. Some of these will be rebranded as Xiaomi phones in global markets as that is what they did with previous models (at least the pro+ model).

                            What's the point of 200mp without OIS ?
                            Is macro going to be a junk 2mp ?
                            Curved screen is bad for gaming and watching movies and breaks more easily
                            The chip isn't great either

                            I think the 12 series will probably fail just like the redmi 11 series

                              Finally redmi note 12 series got major improvements than the previous series. The price will stay at $300 hopefully..

                                Doubtful this would be the same "redmi note 12" for global, though it could come as poco X5 and X5 pro. Poco would skip the 200mp pro+ I assume.

                                  If they would have launched it with Snapdragon chips like 778G or 7 gen 1 with support for MicroSD card, 3.5mm Jack, NFC — then it would be deadly combination and perfect.. with Sony IMX 766... No need of 200MP having only 0.64um pixels
