Pissedoff, 05 Nov 2022I have a Nord from Europe & it still has not got android 12You don't want OS 12. I have it on my Nord CE and it broke so many things on it that I'm looking into downgrading it back to 11.

This is ColorOS, which is total rubbish. It's like an android skin from 2017.

It's these small details that make a difference. Apple does it often, Samsung did it recently with S7, S8 and S9 updates for example.
Why what they said in 2019 must be the rule? why must be static? Why don't go out of their way and surprise customers, show them that they are doing that extra bit? Yes that has costs but would pay in the long term because those customers probably would buy a device from Oneplus later.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2022So glad that I have an older OnePlus where oxygen os is not... moreHuh? In my experience, the UI-performance of Oxygen OS 12 is WAY ahead of anything earlier by OnePlus. My 6T wasn't exactly fast on OOS10 or 11. 8T was okay on 11, but noticeably smoother and snappier on 12. Also battery life improved since major idle drain from various 11 updates was finally fixed. I also like the new UI. Can't wait for the 13 update, it looks even better. Hope it runs as smooth as 12 does. Not sure if it can get any better than that with 8T's internals.

Bodygard, 27 Oct 2022So for example Oneplus 7T/Pro came out in October 2019 with... moreTechnically in 2019, when the OnePlus 7T Pro was released, OnePlus was giving 2 years of OS support for their flagships. So, everybody who bought this phone back then, knew this was coming.
Nowadays, all manufacturers offer 3 years of OS support and 4 years of security updates, for their flagships (Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, etc.). At least they are saying this. We need to wait until 2025 to see if it will be true.

I am using OnePlus 9R (5G). As per news the beta 13 OS version already released. But my mobile is still showing 12 as latest version. Under beta update its not displaying any update. Do user need to do anything to get OS 13 version

Like you said, Xiaomi likes to leave devices in a buggy state, to push people to buy new phones. And seems like it’s working. Doesn’t help that people who knew better, aka the tech reviewers, are licking the boots of these OEMs so they can get free review units by saying how “great” these phones are every single time.

Sure, few people might keep their phones longer, but have you ever wondered why Chinese OEMs are releasing phones with different looks every 6 months? Because the churn rate in Android is that high, especially in emerging markets.
