I really love how people like GSMarena pretend that's it's the "pandemic" or Ukraine for the reason of the continued shrinking of the smartphone market. The reality is phones are getting more and more expensive and offering less and less for it. Micro SD, headphone jack and now even the charger you need to power your phone are becoming increasingly rare on new smartphones.
Consumers aren't as stupid as manufacturers think

😆 it would be whole lot more popular. So many more would have chosen it years ago, now it has been learning curve, but like you see more and more start to undestand iPhone value.

All other products are not. Many have iphone because they consider fancy like Prada, Rolex, Ferrari (despite the fact Apple is not fancy brand, like Samsung and Sony are not as well).
If since early days of first iphone, it was similar price of other phones, iphones would not be that popular. The fact it was way more expensive helped to attrack people with money, now even poor have it and consider " it makes me nicer".

From people who buy high-end phone, very few buy anything else than iPhone

that's what they get for the constant rebrandings, big displays and slow old processors like Helio G37 etc BS that they've been doing lately. The designs are already generic on chinese phones

As a country gets richers, the demand for higher quality product increases and most avg Chinese OEMs don't offer a true flagship. Xiaomi looks to be kinda addressing that while Oppo/Vivo have sorta flagships. The actual battle was between Huawei and Apple in the flagship space but with Huawei locked out, Apple is the clear winner here by default.
