Totally agree. Returned mine and got a Fitbit sense. Longer battery life, larger face, lower cost, includes Assistant.

    I went into a store to check it out in person this weekend, I couldn't make my mind up solely from reviews and pictures available online - I was honestly underwhelmed by the size and design.

    It seemed responsive enough and there are ties into apps I use/love but the display is hindered by the round shape, it makes it look even smaller and I cannot see myself holding the watch 20-30 cm from my face every time I interact with it.

    Now reading that battery life is just barely adequate kills it, I don't see the point in spending CAD450 on the base model - had I purchased a 7 Pro to get it free might have been a different game, but otherwise I'm taking this watch off my list.

      I got this free with the Pixel 7 pro, so I considered it a bonus. I don't use AOD as I actually find it really distracting and I never liked it on my Apple watch. I prefer to tap the screen to find out what the time is and lifting my wrist to see the time made my Apple watch come on all the time. I get through a day on the pixel watch with no problem and I only charge in the morning whilst I get ready and generally, by then the watch is at about 40%. I still haven't found smartwatches a necessity in my life. This is the most comfortable smartwatch I have worn as the Apple watch didn't sit nicely on my wrist. It's the first gen but I like it the build is excellent and I like some of the built-in watch faces. But I am glad you can also choose 3rd party watch faces which you couldn't do with the Apple watch faces. it is not perfect but so far have used a Samsung watch, Apple Watch, and Pixel watch they all have their issues. But I actually like using the Pixel watch. Don't know what it is but this year GSM seems to be on a real downer on anything Google/Pixel. unlike other people I wasn't expecting the second coming with this watch, to be honest, and people really need to stop getting worked up over a smartwatch. but I guess you always get people that have to be slightly disgusting in the comments.

Watch face you see when watch is active is also watch face for AOD mode. Just tiny bit dimmer. And it was brilliant. It actually looked like proper watch with glowing watch face. Not this joke where AOD watch face is entirely different basic one with zero info. And then people wonder why Apple Watch needs daily charge. It's because of freaking amazing display and AOD watch faces as well as all the telemetry watch is capable of.

                wickets, 31 Oct 2022^^ this X 1000000000000000000000000000 the aod is a GIAN... moreso true, hehehe, the same thing happens with pixel 7 which is the same as the pixel of the previous year* with tensor 2 which gives the impression that it is the same soc of last year a little accelerated, if a company like Google is caoaide to ask more than 300 dollars for a connin soc watch from 2018 * is capable of everything !!!

                  At least they're definitely winning the thickest-bezels-per-year award, as well as the lowest screen-to-body ratio award!

                  Imagine the chin on the 360 going all the way around. That is how the Pixel watch looks. Impressively disappointing, Google.

                    the aod is a GIANT joke. calling it aod borders on the fraudulent. and the reviewers of this watch are complicit and in general so lame in the pass theyre giving google for putting out a $50 watch and charging $350 for it

                      And again no mention of anything more than "it has always-on display". Come on. Am I really the only one using AOD or something? Are really all reviewers so disinterested in commenting on it any further than "it is there"?

                      Is it really so hard to mention if AOD is always identical to the active watch face like on Apple Watches or is it using entirely different minimalistic two tone AOD watch face? It's very important because AOD on Apple Watches is AMAZING. Every AOD watch face is IDENTICAL to active watch face, just slightly dimmer and no large white surfaces that just get replaced with black. When watches cost this much, it's important. I currently use Xiaomi Band 7 Pro and it has AOD, but it's very sketchy to say the least. AOD watch faces are all over the place, they are sometimes the same, sometimes they are entirely different and you have no control over it. NO reviewer EVER mentioned anything into such detail. NO ONE. Not even Youtubers. I find this very absurd. AOD is the most important part of smart watches. It makes them look less stupid since it's not just black black slab and you actually see information at all times on it. Yet somehow no one gives it ANY attention.

                      It would require 3 lines of text to describe this and tell users everything. Instead we barely got one sentence "it has AOD". Ugh?

                          i dont get some of these online reviewers saying its pretty good for a first gen/ googles first attempt at a smart watch.. true, not like google would have a massive rnd team and an unlimited budget that also own one of the largest fitness tracker (smartwatch) companies in the world..but yeah good first try hey.

                            this is a 2020 galaxy watch with wearOS.you even have to pay extra after purchase.how does it cost more than 2022 galaxy watch?

                              I received LTE version for free ... and gave it to my mom.
                              With my quick test and setup I find watch UI kinda clunky, buggy (it froze on ECG measurement) and battery drain was quite fast.
                              I could not imagine anyone paying €450 for such a smartwatch.

                                Charging the watch every day for 1.5h sounds on the border of absurdity to me.
                                One can charge the smartphone over the night and quickly head off to work in the morning, but smartwatch is to be used during the night to track sleep, there is really no time to waste plugging and unplugging it once or twice daily.

                                    Stupid watch. For normal operation it use Wear OS but for fitness activities, guess what!? FITBIT!! and you have to pay once the trial is over. What a joke 🤦🏻‍♂️ even MKBHD hate it 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

                                      Unless on big sale or comes with good discounted bundle, there's a lot better smartwatches / smartbands that cheaper or better overall value compared to this.

                                      Battery life is big consideration for me and why I moved to normal watch + smartband, until smartwatches able to last 14-30 days life.

                                        If U R athlete don't bye this its for those who don't use watch too much.
                                        if U want to use always on display contentious track your health U will be disappointed and with no juice afternoon.
