I'm not sure how this will work in practice. Seems that Apple may implement FaceID along with touch controls to advert anyone accidentally pressing the volume rockers on accident. I don't see the practicality unless they'd serve another purpose like bringing up/down the notification shade must the way android does. I wish TouchId would return in the form of a side mounted fingerprint reader. Having to unlock a phone via FaceID (or Watch) is an unnecessary step

To be honest that's going to be a flop.. I'm quite annoyed of side mounted fingerprint because even if you are unintentionally unlocking It I hold it with my other finger and the fingerprint disabled so i have to enter my passcode very inconvenient.. Imagine you are unintentionally volume your phone when watching phhorn.. then boom everyone will here it lol.. I can't imagine what it will be like but I'm sure it be a disaster.

Plus, did I even mention anything about the phone to be totally buttonless? No? My point is that PHYSICAL power and volume buttons should exist since it's still useful rather than those gestures u really glorify about and mentioning how it's not essential, yada yada, yada... U've never really talked about the solid-state buttons anyway

Everyone's different and I'd rather use the physical buttons on my phone than using additional gestures. There's really nothing wrong with their existence. Water resistance wise? IP rating has been implement on some phones (though I see no actual reasons to fully rely on it). If u really care about ur phone, u shouldn't put it in the place where it's easy to get damaged

This rumor of Apple eventually becoming a seamless solid shell is really beginning to make sense to me. Let Kuo alone, these are my predictions
1) Apple will eventually ditch earpieces and mouthpieces in the future and work on a technology to replace them entirely without any apertures.
2) Apple will eventually ditch speakers in their phones. If you need to listen to music, you'll have to turn to iPods or other external devices (iPod, Dock, Homepod, etc.).
3) Apple will eventually ditch even the USB-C and go totally wireless...that is after they perfect the technology on their end.
Watch the space folks.

I wonder since when "pedestrian" had a negative meaning... would you like to amputate your legs, dear pedestrians? No? You're soooo... pedestrian?
Grow some wheels, people!
/sarcasm
As someone who doesn't own a car for climate reasons (having a personal car is a waste of resources on So Many Levels; we should abolish car roads inside cities, IMO), I find usage of this word as something with a negative meaning rather abusive. Please stop.
Pedestrian Lives Matter.

I'd rather have "pedestrian click buttons" than more of this sensor stuff which will break much sooner than "pedestrian click buttons". Did you ever own a phone where "pedestrian click buttons" died because you clicked a million times? Did you ever have a sensor malfunction a million times in that same period of time?
I'd also prefer 16:9 screen and under-display "pedestrian click buttons" instead of 21:9 display that... displays those buttons on screen. "pedestrian click buttons" are hard to mis-click by accident, unlike touchscreen. You can even hold your device with your fingers in that area and... nothing happens, unless you apply enough pressure to "pedestrian click buttons" to "click" them.
