Thanks to chinese companies making horrible generic phones, the iPhone is moving ahead faster than ever. Myself will buy an phone this year. BBK can go cry in a corner

Good, less e-waste, more longevity. The days of major performance/camera quality updates are long gone.

I just hope the US government will continue to push hard the Electronics right to repair.

And then Google must absolutely make six years of security updates mandatory. I don't care about major OS updates any longer. I last saw something interesting in Android in version 8. Since then it's mostly been bells and whistles.

Smartphones are more akin to home appliances nowadays and you don't replace your TV set or hair dryer every year.

And then smartphones prices have gotten out of hand completely but if I am to replace my smartphone every 4-5 years I don't really care. My OnePlus 6 still works as new (sans its decrepit battery which I've no idea how to replace - the company doesn't offer spare batteries directly and buying a "compatible" one on AliExpress doesn't sound exciting - did that in the past - replacements were horrible).

Off topic: To the GSMArena team.

Guys you need to fix the bottom banner advertisement thing while playing music / audio. Whenever I am playing music in the background and the bottom advertisement pops the music volume goes down automatically. This doesn't happen with other websites. It's just not music, it happens with whatever audio source is playing.

But how many of these shipments are actually genuine purchases? Most of em are covered by carriers and their 2 year monthly pay plans which doesn't makes sense in terms of ownership since most of the carrier will replace with "upgraded" version of a phone under a new contract. I bet my 2 coffee cups that 90% of those shipments are either plan covered or stocked by carriers in their warehouses instead of individual user purchases.

Well done Apple, according to Cook, two digits growth for Android switchers. Nice to see more and more people starting to see value of iPhone

obviously with the crisis that is going to enter in 2023 who is going to be spending on a phone, there are serious priorities! You can throw away a phone for 2 years without problems

According to the data, sales of Vivo and OPPO are falling by more than -20% every quarter of this year.
These companies are bound to wonder if they can continue their business in the future.
