I think it was mainly to generate hype. It was basically a marketing ploy.
£500 handset with a cheap plastic look, feel you've got to be kidding me.

It's called opinion. It however either way is not cheap. And it also feels more natural in the hand and that was part of the point. Not to mention the S3 performed a good bit better than the one and Samsung phones are not prone to the HTC hardware issues

There is a difference between opinion and fact though. Sure it's ok to want them to change their materials and everyone can improve quality. But specifically stating its cheap low quality is sheep bs no matter who you are. And Im sorry Sony makes some very nice phones, but other than the water proof Samsung is almost always on top in terms of software, hardware, and features. Screen tech, cameras, and cpu/gpu.

samsung build quality is utter crap..we all know the s3 is made of the sameplastic crap you find on the s2.
Design: The curvy glossy plastic type look is just "awkward" for a flasghip phone. Wanted Samsung to get rid of it btw.
Both have polycarbonate but HTC 1x has a more textured finish making it look like a ceramic touch as compared to glossy looking S3.

if you want the best you have to follow everyone and ther progress cause as stated before i want the best so what im saying is sony is the best at the moment and unless they water proof and drop proof ther device it will fall short and when i update my phone it wont be sammy you buy what you want im not scared of change and i look for what everyone in the phone game so yes at the moment my next phone is leaning to be a nokia unless i c the above changes to sammy cause ther next flagship is gona have best camera water proof wireless charging sencitive screen offline maps voice guidance it might even have a solar charging built in with the screen thats well i know they made a deal with a company but thats besides the point the reason i would be willing to switch to windows as well because it lags allot less browser is really impressive and and its speed is not that bad compared to what android and wat it needs to move so ya dont try to make me look crazy for dissing sammy some time i diss every company when needed i diss nokia for not using android i blame iphone for itunes and how they think ther closed ois is the best i hate iphone the most but they fixed ther design i give them that now im dissing sammy and i will tell them step the design up or this year you will be over stocked with that 100 million units lol lol

I am not fanboy either. My laptop is Toshiba, cheap prepaid phone from Nokia for making phone call only, Cowon S9 mp3 player, Nexus 7 tablet, Nintendo DS, Canon ELPH 100 camera, Sony TV. The only thing I don't like is Apple' fanboys not Apple company.

without the design of iphone 3gs wich was copy-pasted to sgs 1 and google's free android for every bushman,and "new gestures" invented by apple on first iphone, samsung should was a big zero, they deserve to be bankrupt and die. nokia king must rise up again. nokia pureview 808 is much more innovative than all galaxy line. even amoled display is not samsung's invention

I love Sony phones and the Z is just stunning and beautiful. I'm very dissapointed by the photo results though. Hopefully it's just early on here and GSMarena will retake them because they just didnt seem right. As far as phones go it has always been a stronger suite to sony rather than gaming and stereo electronics. Nokia is amazing and deserves mad respect. The only company I dislike is the illegal copy cat scam artist leach crapple. No matter which you prefer the advancements of the Galaxy line or Samsung tech and chips in general cannot be denied. Especially in the phone industry.

Not to mention Iphone 1-5 broke so easily it was scary. As well as ipods. So one device being durable does not make up for it. Nor does that trade off of it being so scratch prone. How is the Z better? If thats what you are referring to. What will be better? Its coming with the latest cpu/gpu and a 1080p Amoled screen. Those two things right there put it up very very high. Water proof is yes an advantage for sony and others when they have it. Also if it follows suite the camera will be good. Yes the S3 screen broke a little to easily, but thats one phone out of an entire line up. and Even the Note2 didnt do it as much which means it must be a specific tempering problem. And that has nothing to do with plastic. Polycarbonate is not cheap. Plain fact like it or not. And if it follows suit it will be among the top or on top in camera. Taking 6 months to a year to release a better phone does not count...it just means you are following them and they will have something better up their sleeves again

is s4 gona have wireless charging cause that is hype and my next phone has to have that and be water proof
