Anonymous, 04 Nov 2022As much as I hate nvidia, their cards atleast work properly... moreSounds like your GPU is broken rather than drivers being bad, if I with RX550 don't have those issues, you shouldn't too

If it... moreSorry, but when I pay 1000€ for a graphic card, I expect its control panel not to look like and function like it's 20 years old design. And yes, it is broken. It's slow, it's glitching all over the place when you navigate through it and apply things. It's ANYTHING but great. AMD's Radeon software may be tiny bit confusing at moments, but then again so is NVIDIA's. But with Radeon, when you scroll and select things, they don't just jump around or stutter and flash when you apply. It just works instantly when you apply things.

I don't understand why NVIDIA is investing any kind of money into dumb NVIDIA Experience panel which is all fancy menus with zero actual usability where main control panel for graphic cards is this archaic garbage.

I need a new gpu and wanted Nvidia rtx 4070 but it could be that with price of it i could get rx 7800 xt which is much more powerful.

My current PC is a 5900x/6900XT with 32GB of ram and had it for about 1.5 years now. I used to have a i5-6600k/GTX 1080 with 16GB of ram and I was having issues where games for me would be capped at 30fps when I switch over to another monitor to change a song or change a video in the background. It happened on pretty much every game I play, and had to restart my game over just to get it back to normal. No driver updates at the time fixed the situation and been complaining to Nvidia for a while. This was during the times where Nvidia released their 20 Super series.

When AMD released their RX 6000 series and saw the 6900XT, I got it and despite it had the glitching images when on a web browser whether on Firefox or on Google Chrome(Fixed and strangely, Edge didn't have this issue), or flickering of the screen while using hardware accelerated enabled browsers...Google Chrome(fixed and Firefox and again strangely, Edge didn't have this problem), or get this, games crashed while gaming and so hard that it uninstalled the graphics driver...(granted the games I was playing were from the Xbox app on Windows and those game exact games on Steam, did not have those issues from my experience and everyone else on Reddit), it has been a solid and very enjoyable experience and don't feel like the drivers are as bad as people say and if they are, AMD are listening and working fast to fix them...just like Nvidia.

I just don't understand this mentality of when Nvidia put lipstick on a pig it's amazing and premium but when AMD does it, it's considered garbage. It's toxic. You already have fanboys saying 3090Ti Ray Tracing performance is now considered garbage now since AMD has announced their 7900 series and it's rumored to have 3090Ti of Ray-Tracing performance.

Not to mention NVIDIA's archaic, outdated, slow and pathetic looking Control Panel which they haven't changed since 2004 I believe. I've had same interface when I was using GeForce 6600GT. And I still have the same damn ugly and slow interface on RTX 3080 almost 20 years later.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2022What do you mean? Can you explain in simple language?NVIDIA usually has 3 dies for their GPU

                                    A full die 102 , most powerful

                                    A cut down version 103

A further. Cut down weaker version 104

These are usually named as RTX 4090,4080 and 4070

But what nvidia did was they used a weak version of GA104 due and named it 4080 12 GB but it was in fact RTX 4070, and the perfomance of RTX 4080 12 GB was so embarrassing for a 4000 series card.

And thus Nvidia pull out it's launch and asked partners to return the cards,it was a very cheap in a way they haven't done this before.

The most recent "stable" driver is from May, and that one isn't even stable with all the flickering while playing a video and stuttering / crashing of games and programs. As long as they don't provide stable drivers, I personally won't buy. Settled for a 3060 Ti after 2 years now. I don't think I will ever spend a 1000 bucks for a GPU ever again, especially AMD.
