We haven't come even close to reaching the peak of rasterized quality and even then the performance is not good enough for a 60 fps gameplay. We have phones with 120 hz displays in the mainstream now, they need to pump in double the fps. We can't even achieve that. So why are they going after ray tracing? That is taking up valuable research time and money from R&D towards something that is just not useful for most people right now. A smoother and better gaming experience for now is far more important on a phone as we do not have any proper cinematic games like let's say Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Last of Us 2, both of these are some of the best looking games of all time and do not have ray tracing.

Example apple used cpu custom in house. Rumor year end 2023 Qualcomm collab nuvia. Make cpu custom in house do not know. whether success or failure . After all you need drivers to use a GPU and even tho the new Gx15 and Immortalis GPUs are Vulkan 1.3 compliant and have VRS and all that, Mali drivers have always been trash, and even Adreno GPUs can be better utilized using the open-source Turnip drivers instead of the proprietary Qualcomm drivers.
I'm just waiting for the day we can use the open-source Mali drivers on Android (when Panfrost and PanVK makes the necessary progress, that is).
If you think proprietary drivers can even dream of being better in whatsoever scenario at all, just look at the community-made AMD drivers on Linux and Turnip for Adreno on Android.

Jbern Ultra, 09 Nov 2022I think the more powerful CPU it gets they need to enlarge ... moreActive cooling, bigger batteries and even lager cooling surface areas doesn't need to be the norm if phone companies actually cared for software, and CPU core designers like ARM were competent and didn't rely almost exclusively in process node improvements as they do (in fact, because of such process node improvements, these things don't need to be true, but while that is ARM's little overused magic trick we just won't see big performance improvements).
Just look at the Zenfone 9: small phone with a Snapdragon 8G1+, basically beats other larger phones with the very same SoC in Geekbench and other benchmarks. Asus didn't design their own CPU cores here but made clever use of software to better tame the beast Qualcomm gave them, by being more "conscious" in how it uses power and handles heat, amongst other things.
(ik it's 8+G1 and not 8G1+ but idc, the plus after the eight just doesn't make sense)

I think the more powerful CPU it gets they need to enlarge the size of the Phone match it into 7.1 Inch or something for more space like small built-in CPU Cooler and Larger battery capacity.

AMD's RDNA2 on Exynos isn't like Nvidia solution : there's not any dedicated RT cores...standard shaders calculate Ray, and you've got AI for super sampling and denoising. It's not far better than 1200's way.
Immortalis 715 has a dedicated RT Cores like Nvidia's solution (Standard Mali G715 hasn't).
Just look at the gap on ray tracing between nvidia and AMD, you will have an idea of the gap between Dimensity 9200 and Exynos 2200...add TSMC's thermal compare to Samsung's...and...game over!

It really does compete with the A16 no sane person would NOT say the GPU on this is not within the same class
The initial benchmarks weren't just all hype
Mali struggled for years but immortalis is the real deal FINALLY 👏 well done ARM
And to think mediatek has achieved this in a second generation flagship SOC and closed the gap between apple so swiftly very commendable even if the adreno is better it won't be miles ahead like back in the days
