Vikass17, 08 Nov 2022Why not 9100?they released 8000 & 8100 last year and will release 8200 this year which would make 9100 look dated

Anyway, though, even if launched this month it may well not be available for sale to the public until 7-10 days after launch which is quite common for Chinese flagship launches.

Sony should start investing with Mediatek. Looking forward for next year's Sony Xperia with Dimensity 9200, even if Sony want its flagship Sony Xperia 1 V to be Snapdragon, at least the Xperia 5 V should have D9200. Sony should give the customers other options to lower the cost, because we know Snapdragon phones are more expensive than Dimensity ones.

"The second breakthrough is in the graphics department where we have the ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU with hardware-based ray tracing engine - another first in the industry."

Wasn't the current flagship exynos with AMD GPU on S22 series, that was the first to offer hardware-based ray tracing?

zodiacfml, 08 Nov 2022Mediatek should start putting their SoCs on laptops to beat... moreQualcomm currently has a deal with Microsoft on the windows on arm platform.

That's why MediaTek can't supply kompanio arm based chip on Windows on arm platform right now

Maybe when the exclusivity deal ends we will see a Windows MediaTek processor.

I for sure want one as i don't game, and it's mostly browsing and media consumption

you have to suffer, 08 Nov 2022i am talking about the chipset. not just the phone. other ... moreSo, how many Dimensity 9000 powered phones are available worldwide (outside china)? In India, it is ONE phone (Vivo X80). And nothing else. So Mediatek has to up their game in mass manufacturing of their high-end SoCs by working with TSMC and make them available at a reasonable price so that OEMs find it good enough to use it in more models which launch internationally.

                            Why not 9100?

Mediatek should start putting their SoCs on laptops to beat Qualcomm. This kind of chip can steal a lot of business from AMD and Intel.
