By that logic, the iPhone 14 and the 14 Pro Max are the exact same phone. Who cares about the new A16 Bionic; it's the exact same processor as the A15! 48MP camera? That's the exact same camera but with more numbers (duh). 120hz? Telephoto? Those are just fancy words made by Tim Apple to sell you nothing! This "Dynamic Island" is also just the notch with a sticker on top. See, exact same phone but with a higher price tag. Exact same phone.

Many issues i got after 6 years of using 2 different xiaomi phones, also my first android phone.
Very scary experience, from swollen battery (i literally change the battery for every 18 months) , broken side botton, overheating, only 1 OS upgrade, too many ads on xiaomi native apps, cheap looking UI, copy cat phone design, etc.
This brand will literally make people (especially xiaomi user and iphone user) have an image that android is just an inferior alternative compared to iPhone, because of reasons i mentioned above.
No. It's not Android that sucks, it's because of XIAOMI who makes bad android phone and creates image as inferior alternative phone.
My recommendation after 6 years using xiaomi:
-never spend above 300 USD for buying xiaomi phone, because there are a other high quality phones with long software support.
-never take advice from xiaomi phone sellers, they sell you xiaomi, so you could change phone every 1-2 years. Their core cash flow comes from people changing their phone/battery every year, thats why they hate Samsung/Apple.
-only buy xiaomi for secondary backup phone.
-if you are an iPhone user, dont buy xiaomi as your first Android device, because it will make you think Android as an inferior alternative of iPhone.

you say they are cheap but truth is they compensate by pushing ads and unfairly pricing their spare parts in service center. in the end you pay more for redmi phone. I took a redmi powerbank to their service center .. because their USB teeth fell out 😄 ( imagine the quality) . battery was perfectly fine . they said it's not repairable. throw it in the trash and buy a new one . that was their exact word. so much for " very cheap with same quality " at least samsung publish their spare parts prices in their website so nobody can scam you .

Most powerfull midranger from xiami is 12 Note explorer for 330. We cant compare with any samsiung device and even if Samsung manages to output genuinely same specced device it will not cost 330 but at least 700.
Price is all that matters. Even more in global pandemic and huge economy crissis.
Xiaomi understands that hence they sells much more than any other brand.
Besides most users swaps their device in 2-3 years period a time where most devices comes to its final days.
Maybe only apple last longer but in the end you get a very updated device unable to run most apps due to outdated hardware.
