Anonymous, 06 Mar 20132 million sold in a country of a billion people that's 0.2%... moreWhat an absurd comment.

Not every single person in China is in the market for a cell phone. Of the ones in the market, not all of them are going to replace their phone this year. Of the ones that are going to replace their phone this year, not all of them will do it between Dec and March. Of the ones who are going to replace their cell phone during that time, not all of them are in the market for a smartphone. Of the ones in the market for a smartphone, not all of them are going to be shopping in that price point. That close to the market size Nokia is dealing with.

So to say China's smartphone market size is over a billion, just shows you have no grasp over the topic you attempting to talk about.

AnonD-3209, 06 Mar 2013yes, i agree.. i'm not buy their phone now not because i do... moreYou want a Nokia phone, use it. Lack of apps is only in your imagination. Maybe you want crappy cheap apps to be happy.

Only in your most bizarre dreams. Nokia never with Android, so be it.

You guys are comparing wp8 with ios and android which are already 5 years old and wp8 just few months old so it is a huge success to Nokia. They took risk of adopting new and unique platform and they still managed to mark their presence in the market. Wait for some time Nokia is a real fighter..

It took Nokia 3 months to sell 2 million Lumias, the same amount of iPhone 5 were sold the first 3 days.

"Lumia 920 supply shortages at the end of last year, which undoubtedly slowed the sales."

Good, from now on that excuse is ruled out.

I think nokia was not wrong to adopt a new OS, you can't call alop or Microsoft stupic cause they are taking a risk for new innovation , Unlike android which is totally inspired by Apple iOS, window mobile looks and feel very fresh. also smart tiles is nicely done, as far application, developer will go where the numbers are, these 2 million will certainly will interest developer to make more apps for windows. most of the major application are already there on windows application store.

AnonD-115822, 06 Mar 2013What's to celebrate. China has 1.4 billion people and they ... moreoh wow.. talk about being a whiney little school girl...

... this is news because the lumia series recently entered a market that is MAJORLY dominated by cheap android devices like huawei, htc, zte, oppo, etc.

not just nokia, but wp8 in general.
                                clearly you're very ignorant.

yes there's 1.4 billion people in china, but how many of those bought a phone over the last 2 months? probabably about 20 million...and how many can afford a device thats not a knockoff... and how many of those are even open to trying wp8?

2 million in 2 months is huge success for a brand line-up thats fresh in the market.

Yeah definitely they will celebrate ....bcoz we R the idiots who bought lumia ...as there is cost for every app n in fact there R no apps that we can use ...just see in android n apple number of applications n games at free of cost...
