I'd like to see an OEM use the latest MediaTek Dimensity chip in its flagship. Qualcomm has been the top dog for too long. It's become complacent and charges too much. MediaTek is comparable and cheaper. It's come a long way in the last couple of years.

I don't understand the concern. Plus models are overclocked models, and people prefer them to the normal models. Will it be all right if it's called 8+G2?

The S23 will perform just fine with the 8 gen 2. Samsung is optimising it further so I think thermal control and battery life should be great. The overclocked 8 gen 2 should be used on the Tab S9 series also.

overclocking on the tablet may make but on a phone? Thermal and power restrictions are too high so that you won't profit from it in 99 percent of the cases. just in benchmarks you get a higher number.

The S23U body is not exactly the same as the S22U. It's a little bit boxier and very slightly wider.
If there's a reworked cooling system in there then the overclocking thing could be viable. No point otherwise except marketing, which like everyone else has said is possible

Samsung doing every little thing they can to stay the mainstream popular choice for android (even though only about 5% of their users will ever see the frequency increase in real world performance).
Wonder if Samsung will be able to keep thermals and battery life in check with a passively cooled SoC hitting those frequencies (not gone well in the 22 series has it now)
I'm curious what's Gunna happen with exynos, specially when they collaborated with AMD for the gpu department. If they decide its only snapdragon this time then that was a lot of money thrown down the drain (also considering the they never properly optermised the gpu and had problems with performance since day one... Lazy Samsung should of had the best graphical performance on the mobile market).
