Apple is bringing a proper battery-saving mode to watchOS 9

19 November 2022
The new mode offers lot more than just performance reduction.

And it is honestly quite telling that you accuse the quantified scientist channel of being fake, when the dude goes all in on showing his viewers how he reaches the conclusions he does.
He is a post doctoral research scientist who provides painstakingly detailed analysis of the devices he’s tests, you mean while are just some time waster who harps on about what day of the week you last charged your Watch 🤷‍♂️

And for the umteenth and final time, I do not care how much battery life you are getting out of your Galaxy Watch, I have nothing against and have said nothing bad that product. So talk about distortion fields all you want dude, I cringe when I think about what twisted reality you’re living in.

Peace out ✌️

You are the definition of the Reality Distortion Field.

My Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is now past four full days since I last charged it. 99 HOURS. Still reporting 15 hours of battery life remaining.

Here's how absurdly next-gen Samsung is on hardware compared to everything else: Google's Wear OS suggested I had to turn on power saving three hours ago. When I still had 18 hours energy left, because Google also thinks 15% battery means there is no chance in heck you're making it through a work day.

I have no interest in the Galaxy Watch as I have never owned one, I’m sure they are plenty good enough. And I have returned or sold every Apple Watch I have ever purchased.

So in short I have no idea why you keep going on about the Galaxy watch to me dude, I haven’t said anything about it at all.

All I did was suggest the sensors on the Apple Watch evidently work very well and that seems to have set you off on a tantrum for some reason.

      Get a grip will you!

Fun fact, back on track! I have not charged my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro since you started this pathetic deflection. That's around 50 hours ago, isn't it? There's a thin line between Apple apologists and the you-know-whats that are occasionally obsessed with grammars. Lie-lie-lie. If you're caught in a lie, lie harder. Never stop the lies. That is you. Pointless pseudo conversation with a lost soul.

sa11oum, 22 Nov 2022For what it's worth, I used to end the day at around 4... moreI’m sure it can be done, but you have to manage the Apple Watch throughout the day in order to do so, at least that was my experience, and I never felt I was able to rely on the battery life of any of the Apple Watch’s I tried (series 3 & 4 and both SE models). I want core functionality coupled with longevity, the Apple Watch gives excessive functionality at the expense of longevity, or thanks to this low power setting, diminished functionality to extend longevity.

And none of this takes away from the fact that Apple have felt it necessary to develop a low power setting in Watch OS that disables practically any reason to be wearing an Apple Watch in the first place.

That right there is the contradiction, and the reason I’ll not be buying another Apple Watch till they find a way to move comfortably past the ‘up to 18 hour’ battery life. And I’m excluding the Ultra from that equation as it’s so expensive, and quite ugly as well in my opinion. Get at least the battery life from it into something like the SE though, and I may reconsider……

AnonD-762416, 21 Nov 2022I can go on repeat, until the coin drops for you: There ... moreOk, first there is no ‘write up’ on this page, this is a comments page. I’m assuming you’re getting yourself all confused on the difference between web page and web site.

Second, you’re going to have to point out the part where I have criticised the Galaxy Watch. Seeing as I haven’t though, I have only stated that the Apple Watch has been demonstrated to be among the very best as far as watch based health tracking is concerned.

Third, you’re also going to have to get past this thing you have where anyone who isn’t totally critical of Apple technology is either a paid shill, a lair or suffering from some reality distortion nonsense.

So in all your appear to waiting on a couple of penny’s to drop yourself there little duckling.

DaFink, 21 Nov 2022Sure, but that kind of contradicts all the noise Apple have... moreFor what it's worth, I used to end the day at around 40% with my Series 7, which is more than fine to do the sleep tracking. Personally I hate sleeping with anything on (rings/watch) but it could be done. Only really old watches with depleted battery health and/or heavy LTE/GPS users would not be able to do sleep tracking reliably.
