Even modern Samsung had it and removed, I think only Sony and Huawei currently have variable aperture, Samsung and Sony were such small stops on such tiny sensors it almost isn’t worth it, huawei is really the only real maker with an industry leading 10 stops which is a much bigger deal

        The only useful thing missing here is a proper 3D face recognition system that the Honor Magic 4 Pro and iPhones have. If they threw that in, this would definitely be the best phone of the year. Also how many IMX598 sensors have been made? They have been using this sensor for the last 3 years now. They should also replace the front sensor of 32MP(8 MP QuadBayer) for a Samsung JN1(1/2.76") or even better a Sony IMX758 sensor with a size of 1/2.51". That would surely have 4K/60fps recording options with great details and dynamic range.

                but some thing different benchmarks yes google pixels have good cameras next to google i can say iPhones and last vivo X series

                      vrvly, 21 Nov 2022Rofl, compact cameras got about the same sensors, maybe eve... moreHad a coworker show me a video he took at a concert on a point and shoot compact camera (slim and light enough to slide into a pocket) and it completely obliterated anything even a phone in 5 years from now can accomplish. It was at night too and the image was crystal clear, sharp, and had no artifacts or oversharpened mess like smartphone photos. Phones will never be as good as dedicated glass and hardware.

                          As much as I would like this phone, a 23mm lens is too wide and the Camera placement on the bottom left is not my ideal choice, I would prefer top left like on the pixel 3.

                          Another big flaw is that you have no ability to stop down, so in a group shot, some people will be out of focus

                            Finally a worthy opponent for iPhone 14 Pro/ Pixel 7 Pro / Huawei Mate 50 Pro & Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra...
                            Even it will be better than above said camera mobiles..

                              Even if compact cameras were for free, just try going everywhere with extra device on you, when you can do the same with a phone, not to mention all else you will do with a photo easily in one device...
                              Well, there is a reason why they are cheap...

                                Samsung can do phone just like this. But wont because samsung knows s23u can sell much more than this vivo even if hardware is inferior.
                                So, why would samsung bother ?

                                Does not matter if this vivo has better cam setup, better screen etc ... X90 Pro+ not gonna sell 1/3 of s23 ultra. Samsung has no reason to spend more money on the phone when can just keep 80% of previous device + just change few pieces.

                                Apple does it.

                                      As someone who had the X80 Pro, outside of the great camera, the phone had nothing special and even lacked basic stuff.
                                      I hope that the x90 series are well above it but i have my doubts.
