When Apple announce something .. they delivers.
When Samsung announce something.. they might not deliver.
Example: 64gb version of samsung galaxy tab 7.7 / S3 64gb / wireless charging all hype saying .. in the end no results. no trust anymore

I doubt Apple will go wireless but if they do the plus is that this means they will bring more Qi wireless chargers that are stylish and at a reduced price to compete with Apple styled ones ^^

Believe it not that Apple has already filed the patent for iCharge.
Anyone who wish to use this technology need to pay licensing fees to Apple.

Gauron, 08 Mar 2013I am not a fanboy of any brand. But its interesting that ip... moreNokia's current wireless charging is just an alternative to the USB charging. You wouldn't always charge the phone wirelessly because it's quite slow compared to the regular method. You only use it when you're using the phone but don't want to run out of battery yet.

abcd, 08 Mar 2013One more Copied patent in sammy's Bucket.. Licensing technology has nothing to do with copying patents. Ignorance is a bad quality.

maybe apple will sell their next iPhone without a power cable, many companies have experimented with this idea to make people use their existing power cables with successful trials.
O2 UK tried this with the HTC One x, and 82% of customers did not mind buying the phone without an adapter, it could easily be a route for apple to target, and considering apples inflated prices for accessories they would probably sell it for at least £25-30 and would no doubt sell in millions

I am not a fanboy of any brand. But its interesting that iphone users mocked the nokia 920 wireless charging solution because the charger still has to be plugged in -lack or brains here BTW. Now they are getting into the contactless charging game. Interesting.

Apple will use a contactless wireless charging. Samsung, on the other hand, will copy either Apple or Nokia's wireless charging technology.
