G, 10 Dec 2022Says the guy with K40 in his.I got the K40 in early 2021. The Snapdragon 870 in it was the best chip you could have in a phone at the time. It did not use Samsung's horrible architecture unlike the horrible 888. I was gonna get the Mi 11 a few months before but then I realized that before buying it. Still better than the Nothing phone's horrible SD700 series SoC over a year later. The display in the K40 was among the best at the time being an E4 panel. The cameras were pretty good. Could be better but they made for some great yearbook photos for me in the right lighting. The charging was quite quick at the time and it came with a charger inside the box unlike the Nothing phone. The battery was sizable while the phone was quite thin, thinner than the Nothing phone with a larger battery. And the only "polishing" was the glass back.

All this while being almost a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the Nothing phone at launch. If the K40 is a polished turd then the Nothing phone is diamond encrusted radioactive waste.

You telling me 300 qualified software engineers can't work on a single model?

Yeah, in case you conveniently forgotten Nothing only has one phone model to maintain. I don't see how you guys keep making up weak excuses for Nothing is going to help the company improve.

omzig, 01 Dec 2022did you even read my post? i just told you your phone'... moreNo I didn't read your post because I didn't notice it. But stop cherry-picking numbers, overall it's only 26% slower than the Nothing phone's storage in Androbench, as read speeds (which are arguably more important) are only around 15% slower. Though in real world performance the K40 will be faster due to the way faster SoC.

In the US if you go on Kimovil, the cheapest K40 is $311 and the cheapest Nothing Phone is $467. Both of those are for the 8/128 models. I mean forget the K40, you could get a K50 Pro for the price of the Nothing Phone here, and those aren't even remotely comparable.

Du... moreyeah, i have experience with Poco M3 and it was just a bloody mess of bugs and hiccups.. here's MIUI for you. most apps behaved with bugs, telegram didn't open chats even after multiple taps, Brave showed another page content while i longpressed to copy some info from the ccurrent page, whatsapp stutter and blacked out when i try to listen to audio message, miui own text app keeped on enabling underlined text on its own whim, etc. i can go on for infinity.
MIUI is hands down the worst skin i have ever seen on any android. i know Poco M3 is a cheap phone i bought as a quick fix but it's hardware was good enough for the price, all of it was ruined by MIUI and updates didn't fix any single thing.

Dual camera, cost £160 new in 2018 and it ran flawlessly on miui. Ran on a snapdragon 636 and never hung or crashed, opened all apps how I'd expect it to and even then had decent levels of customisation (if you wanted it). I'd say ios is a 3rd grade version of Huawei's emui that's about 2/3 years behind still (it's not but we can all exaggerate can't we)

i dunno what place you are from, but the difference between K40 and Phone (1) prices in India are negligible.

As someone who had been annoyed a lot by beta software previously, I'll happily wait for the stable release.
