Adding light doesn't solve anything, but so does Dynamic Island. Point is: It's fun and call for attention, which is a very valid point for those who consider their phone to be a decorative accessory rather than a problem-solving piece of technology. I wouldn't buy this over an ordinary phone, but there are people who are into this

P.S. It's phone *charger*, not phone *changer*... try to get it right at least once, you've been typing it wrong - again - since June.

Carl Pei is aware iOS is dominating the United States. Outside the U.S., Android dominates. I compare iPhone to Star Wars or NFL, it's very American. But once it leaves its shores, it's not as big in another country. But in the U.S., iPhones can be bought the cheapest. I bought an iPhone SE 2022 for only $150 and it's in pristine condition and got it unlocked for T-Mobile. Got an iPhone 7 in pristine condition for $60.

I'm aware of the price differences between USA vs. Philippines. The same iPhones I got for $150 or $60 would cost double or even triple in the Philippines and they're used in probably worse condition. If you want to buy an iPhone at a low price, you need to live in the United States. You can benefit from all the promos like getting a free iPhone 14 if you sign up for an unlimited plan for the next 3 years or trade in an old phone. Other countries don't have this.

Why did people yet just another anti features brand enter the market

            No SD card slot
            No headphone jack
            None user removable removable battery
            No changer in box
            High price low end processor
            iPhone rip off hole punch

This should have never left the drawing board
Just another bad apple in the market

If I am forced to use Android 12 or above, I would probably switch to apple as well. Plus, with most Android phones loosing prominent features which stood out like a replaceable battery, expandable storage, headphone jack, and many other features simply being removed, I am losing reason to stick with Android. I mean, what do I have to look forward to? I hate material you, I hate the new scrolling animation, I hate that more and more freedom is being stripped away from power users, I hate all of it. If this doesn't turn around soon, I'm switching to IOS. Android's quirks like laggy animations and overall "clutter" are like comparing Windows to Mac. In this case, Android tries to follow apple while removing things that are important to me that kept me an Android fan whilst keeping Android, Android. It's still kind of clunky but I can't do anything to shape it into what I want. If I have little freedom on both IOS as well as Android but IOS looks nicer and doesn't have bloatware and crap that I have to remove as well as having much longer OS support and recently, keep getting updates for older IOS versions like IOS 15, then I feel like I would have a better time using an Apple product than I would using an Android product. Same thing for Windows. If they keep going in the direction they are now, I would switch to Linux instead of using Windows 11.

The price of this phone is the biggest reason I wouldn't buy it. At close to $500-$600 I'd probably just pick up a pixel 7 instead... This phone needs to be around $300-$400 to sell well.

3 years max, back to mothership Oppo. Mark my words. Personally, I will see it being sold to Oppo in a year or two.

I wish this phone had a telephoto camera instead of the ultrawide and was water/dust proof, lack of which are a deal breaker for me. More accessories support too, such a lack of cases available. Everything else is alright. Shame, because I'd gladly pay ~$250 more if it was a bit more higher end.

Anonymous, 06 Dec 2022This phone is a total gimmick. Adding lights on the back do... moreThey marketed the lights more than what the phone is actually capable of. From what I've seen is it's an Upper Midranger with Flagship features & capabilities (you could say it's a Flagship Killer with only the CPU as it's cons). It's cheapest current phone that is capable of Wireless Charging

If I were him, I'd release Nothing Phone (2) in 2023, with better upper-midrange specs, and improved cameras. Then, I'll do that gap between Phone 2 and Phone 3. Instead of 1 and 2.

"Phone (2) isn't launching anytime soon. We're focused on doing a few things well, and won't churn out dozens of products a year like many others.
Phone (1) is our main focus. We're cooking something really great in terms of software, Android 13 and beyond."

I hope they stick to this way of doing things.launching few products per year but focusing and putting their all into the few

And I hope they don't end up like the other Chinese brands that launch devices per month
And finally with their serious focus I hope in years to come they don't disappoint and remain unable to beat the Chinese brands and BIG BIG MAYBE,they might beat SAMSUNG/APPLE or just make products that can compete with the topdogs

This phone is a total gimmick. Adding lights on the back doesn't solve anything. If they want to work on something different then they can work on battery longevity, or better build quality etc or even make a small phone for people that want small phone
