1800 is way too much for a midranger with sluggish charging speeds, tiny battery for its size, fragile screen, medium grade cameras and a CPU and GPU equal or worse to a SD888.
And several other missing specs.

At $1800 will be a hard sell against Z Fold, unless this has any stand-out feature like a a crease less or a gap less design or something

Daemon Targaryen, 08 Dec 2022Just yesterday, I finally got to touch a Z Fold 4 while str... moreAll foldables have a crease. There is no getting around that, yet. The Z has the most visible and the N has the least, but they all have one. Furthermore, I've noticed the crease on teardrop foldables are getting worse. I suspect it is due to the slimmer design of the hinge which naturally creates a tighter curve. I'm willing to bet the crease on the next Oppo will be more visible. Not saying it will be bad. Just more visible than the 1st gen, if they slim it down as expected.

BTW, I do commend you for holding out and not upgrading every year.

        3000$ beta phone? Nah.

What's up with the wierd inside hinge? Looks like Z Fold 1 from 4 years ago.

Just yesterday, I finally got to touch a Z Fold 4 while strolling through Best Buy. I've never ever touched one before after 3 years. I saw one person use one while waiting in a movie theater. Um, it's NOT for me. Can see the crease right away. Samsung is the leader in foldables but they still can't get rid of that crease that Chinese OEMs can do.

I think for YouTubers like Michael Fisher, it's just a flex. Make strangers aware that you own a $1800 phone. But it's not for me. I don't want to carry such a bulky device in my pocket. And real quick regarding Best Buy, but what happened to them? My local one changed the entire interior. Online shopping has eliminated most retail stores unless it's the Apple Store with tons of people.

I'll be sticking to my Z Flip 3 until Flip 10 comes out in 2028 or a Flip 13 in 2031. I want to only do 10-year upgrades. This applies to iPhones as well. I'll probably go through a couple of battery replacements but I'll be saving thousands of dollars by NOT upgrading every few years. The people who keep upgrading are for the fickle people who get bored fast or want to do trade-in deals.

I don't really get this formfactor. The tablet size display might be good if you have a long commute every day but if you're at home I guess I just don't see the point

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2022Outer screen is too wide. Looks like almost 4:3 ratioIt's probably 18:9 which is perfect for a smartphone display. Nowadays they are too narrow and tall. Find N was praised by everyone for the size + aspect ratio.
