I see people here are really buying Apple's "innovation" argument it made for holding to its proprietary connector from 2012. USB-C can be extended, just like WiFi or electric plugs - its not stopping "innovation".

If I pulled out every drawer and find the old stuff lying around, I would not be surprised to find fifty usb-chargers from various devices that came with a charger over the years... That is pure waste.

Maybe they can redefine their wall charger as an 'adapter', that can be powered either trough the wall socket or an USB-cable... Making it so impractical that no one would use the usb-option.

Is this law for every new device sold or every newly RELEASED device sold? Because manufacturers often sell older models for a few years. Apple for example will still probably have like 3 older lightning iPhones on sale in 2024.
