The smartphone market is probably doomed as most brand's just copy apples bad habits and are all just see how apple' can get aways with anything

Yes anything absolutely anything apple does will sell
They could increase pricing & make no improvements at all and they still sell just as well

No ports at all and just wiseless changing on iPhone
With little too no spec hardware improvements at and even if at doubled pricing will sell

Just look at what happened too GPU market with crypto mining people are willing too pay up too 3 or 4 time's MSRP for a product they want

They will remove th... moreApple will use type c by 2024 beside a lot of people don't have a wireless charging pad and I don't see any wireless charging pad that is past 15w for charging speed on the market. Almost all portable external SSD devices don't have the feature to use wireless for transferring data over wifi. So a lot of people with huge files or videos would be affected by this move and flagship smartphone sales would decline big time. Don't see any OEM going wireless for flagship smartphones anytime in the future become the market is not ready yet.🤡😂🤑

I just wish the regulations by the EU made manufacturers and brand's include the changer in the box

There's just so many cheap Chinese usb-c ports going too enter the changers enter for market now with poorly made voltage regulators problem's going too make busted up smartphone with none removable battery's warranty issues ahead

This also means double fual will be used from double smartphone+changer shipping and repairs sent back and forth on top

Or the alternative buying a hefty price premium for the brand name changers just too be able too use are smartphones that probably are going be very super fast changing leading too overheating of the internals of smartphones and longterm damage in the long run

And apple will most likely just go wiseless changing leading too many copy cat brand's

Wiseless changing has it's on problem's with being reliable and don't even work properly and is unhealthy for the smartphone battery also

Xiaomi will most likely have battery or changer problems sooner or later with 200w plus changing that is overdue too lead too a catching fire or blowing up smartphones sooner or later

              Better safe than sorry
When it comes down too safely with stuff like this

Sadly we only learn are lessons after something goes wrong but never stop it before it starts happening in the first place

                Massive discounts incoming.

I just realized that I can connect my phone to my laptop's 65W charger that is USB-C and it works! It even says fast charging 😊
If you need a very LONG-cabled fast charger, get a laptop one!
The price difference is marginal: about 10 euro difference and you get 65W instead of 45W.
                  Peace! 🌈👽💋

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2022Before putting your finger towards an American company who ... moreMicro-USB is only present on cheap devices when it comes to androids which get replaced less often, far less outrageous then it not being on iPhones that costs ridiculous sum of cash and are constantly being sold in bigger numbers.

What I am trying to say is, American companies don't use USB-C out of greed, others don't out of neccecitiy, that's why USA's economy is largest, only thing that matters is value of dollar, nothing else.

If Apple decided to go portless and other smartphone brands decided to follow them, I’m sure there will be people posting comments “no port, no buy” comments!

They can keep their fast charging but atleast they should support PD alongside their proprietary chargers. If charger can deliver 100 to 200W it should easly do 65W PD.

It's weird that Apple was the first to push USB-C on their MacBooks in 2015. Then it came to their iPads. But Apple pushed for iPhones to use Lightning for 10 years.

It's actually a good thing for these companies to make mistakes. If consumers are smart, it makes them not upgrade as often.

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2022What I like the best is the need to support PD in USB-C Th... moreWell, redmi, xiaomi, black shark chargers can be used on one another already.

Realme, oppo, vivo and oneplus chargers can be used interchangeably too.

For the above examples, you won't necessarily get the maximum advertised speed, but it'll probably still be faster than charging from a 25w PD brick.

The xiaomi phones I've tried actually charge reasonably fast from a generic 65w pps brick, so I think they're probably more or less compliant with this law.

The realme/Oneplus phones I've tried charge abysmally slow from the 65w pps brick though. I think this means that they max out at a lower charging speed when using a PD charger(but the charging speed still says fast charging).

Does this mean that the iPhone 14 will not be sold in 2025? Because they always keep the 2 previous models at cheaper prices. Same for iPhone SE.
