Good, I applaud this move. One universal port for everything. Take that, Apple.

iPhones will never use USB type C port. They will remove the lightning port altogether and rely only on wireless charging.
Sadly, in the years to follow this decision, a lot of other manufacturers will do the same (especially for flagship and top mid-range models). Luckily, the cheaper models will still keep the charging port (the same like you can still find now headphone jack on a lot of cheap phones).
For me, is actually a good thing, it will make my future phone purchases a lot easier. I will never ever buy/use a phone that has only wireless charging capabilities (no matter the brand). I rather go back to Nokia with buttons than to use only wireless charging.

Maria, 09 Dec 2022omg, we will see iPhone 16 to use usb C then.Don't get your hopes too high.
This is Apple.
Apple can't make money with USB-C so they are surely gonna ditch the Wired charger altogether within 2-3 years so that they can make money by selling Wireless Chargers.

Before putting your finger towards an American company who has no idea about your custom and etiquette, tell your beloved European companies to practice it first. It's time to ban Nokia and HMD Global for their malpractices with USB ports.

Does this mean Apple wont be able to sell older model iPhones in Europe after 2024?! Or this would apply to devices manufactured after the law is in action?!

By 2024 we will get to the İPhone 16 series and Apple will most likely move to true portless by then. I don't see any USB-C İPhones comimg

More rules like this can be better.
But not in all areas .
If 4-5 major update becomes mandatory, prices will go higher. People who don't care about Android numbers will get affected too.
But it should be mandatory to show update in big letters on box front. Show it in specifications everywhere.
( Like 2 major updates)
