ipad 4 runs four cores the more powerful SGX554 at 300 MHz. Giving 71.6 MFLOPS (76.8 according to different source).
Much higher processing power in the ipad (40%), but 50% higher screen resolution makes it all more even.

Some of them too naive on this field and dont even realize pc already start gpu bussines in 1997 with 3dfx/ati/s3/matrox company..

Galaxy s4 will not reach ipad 4 rendering power...
Apple still leading in graphic department...
Indeed...ipad 4 is king of mobile graphic at this moment...
No any device can beat it even iphone5...

AnonD-7433, 13 Mar 2013Samsung is indeed great on marketing, but who's talking abo... moreThe S3 international edition did not use Tegra 3 nor Adreno 320, it also had a weakly lit pentile display, a un-impressive battery and shell material - and steep price compared to HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X after about a month on the market. Both of which offering proper HD displays with twice the possible brightness - for those of us who dare to step outside.
So, S3, not the best screen, not the best gaming power, nor the best battery life and not the best price = not the best choice.
However, great at benchmarks. Reveiwers pretty much only look at benchmarks and gives score based on that. Many chinese chipset manufacutrers have also found ways to get great benchmarks with so-so HW.
Why some people only care about benchmarks makes no sense to me. Game support is what matters. And if one doesn't care about high end games at max details and higest possible resolution, there's no need to get a flagship model. Unless it brings something else to the table that by far exceeds other models. Motorola's Maxx-series with their tremendous batteries are great examples of this.
No one (of sammy fanboys) wanted a weak pentile, but that's what sammy brought. Not many loves the feels of cheap-o plastic, sammy brought one and with paint so cheap they had to re do the paint job as it was of such terrible quality. AMOLED isn’t all bad, but there are AMOLED-models available with much better brighness than S3, don’t get why that is when the others are using displays manufactured by Samsung. Hopefully the S4 will get a brighter display.
I'm glad to see that sammy is choosing SGX, it's what I have in my tablet (SGX544MP2 over 2048x1536). Next to Tegra, it's a great GPU.
Mali needed better support than it got from sammy. I suppose sammy was just to lazy to do anything about it and therefore is opting for PowerVR.
Tegra is by far the better gaming platform. Ref. Tegra Zone and ultra high setting unavailable for other chipsets.
And the point of buying the top model is power and flexibility/support. There's no need to buy S3, iphone 5 or any other top phone for using facebook, texting and calling. Though many do, just to show they can afford to spend it (with credit cards).
Best phone last year?
For power hungry gamers it was the Optimus 4X and for those in need of a phone to use as much as possible it was the Motorola RAZR (Maxx) HD amungst those in need of high end phones. However, both of these have failed in marketing.
For those who loves gaming and doesn't care too much about price/value and limitations in other aspects, it was the iphone 5 - with guaranteed support for any game in app store optimized for it.
Okay, lets say people are more educated and buy based on reviews and not just what's in their face everywhere they look. The reveiwers still say S3, based on synthetic benchmarks. It should be mandatory to perform more in-game tests. off-screen benchmarks tells us nothing about the phone, just the CPU/GPU.
Some people only care about braging rights and that's why they buy a flagship phone to text and bore themselves on facebook. I would give more braging rights to those who buy the best phone fitted for THEIR actual use.
Ask yourself, do you know anyone who has an iphone and just about no apps on it? I do. Just as I know people with flagship WP and Android phones they only use for calling and texting and a occasional visit to facebook. They bought it because it was recommended by someone who heard from someone else bla bla or the seller wanted to get a better sale done. So my opinion is NO, people are far from educated on what they are buying. If they were then we would see a much bigger variation in the smartphone market, as we did before the smartphone era.

Within android they want the best and branded oem which is obviously Samsung. Within Samsung they want the best product which isn't too big and not too small and yet powerful,which was obviously sgs3. Also this thing must have met everything they asked for but comprising on the quality which a huge percent don't bother. People are smart and cautious when picking a phone.

I said that the S III was the best smartphone last year according to various tech sites, popular and credible tech sites. Even by the GSM Association. I doubt that they found the S III to be the best just by judging on the numbers of it's sales. The high numbers in sales only affirmed the acknowledgments and showing that the consumers are getting smarter in picking the best products.

Call me SAR, 13 Mar 2013I really dont understand people nowadays. everyone talks ab... moreEU has SAR requirements and regulations, even though it's been proven time over and time again that the waves generated are far too long to affect any cell in our bodies. Waves necessary to affect us are more powerfull and shorter.
I assume that you do not smoke or drink alcohol - nor digest anyting that can be considered unhealthy - at the same time as you stay active and do not sit for more than 3 hours every day. Otherwise thought on SAR seems pretty pointless. Stop stressing about everything being dangerous, the stress will kill you a lot faster.

I think Samsung shift to power SG VRX GPU for a reason not cause of IPhone or Apple using the same GPU and I know that Samsung one of biggest Apple fan Lol. But the main reason that Mali400 is pure carp for handling intensive 3D Gamez. BTW Sam fan power VRX one of the best GPU in the market if it's not the best.
