They have been making... moreEven ZenFone 8 only uses a refreshed IMX363, the IMX663 12MP sensor, and it does the job well enough while not making the camera island ridiculously big on the inside, which can spell disaster for component placements. For me, as long as it's not that trash 2MP "macro cam", it will make do. Also, those Samsung sensors aren't THAT bad, at worst it's not "flagship worthy", and the setup used in the 13 tries its best to mimic the vanilla S23, which is good enough.

Here are two new trashes from Xiaomi. They have been making ridiculous configurations for the camera for a long time. instead of the IMX586 sensor for secondary and tertiary sensors, it has Samsung's garbage.

Again, no, smh...if it has a floating element or two then it most definitely focuses closer than usual, that's the whole point, to prevent or at least mitigate quality degradation at close focusing distances, it doesn't come as anything new or "interesting".

So you're at least partially correct, Xiaomi 13 has higher volume that Xperia 5iv, but surprisingly, less than Zenfone 9.
But, It's important to note that, despite all that, Zenfone 9 feels most compact, because it doesn't follow the trend of being ridiculously thin. Back in the day when phones were usable in one hand, they were much thicker. Thickness has the least effect on one hand usability. Asus is intelligent enough to realize that.

What's the point of asking questions like "who cares now days" when these oems whom you serve have forcefully and wrongfully taken headphone jacks and microSD cards away and people have very limited opportunity to use them as a result?

Without SD card u are limited to your device ROM size...
Try listening to music all day long every day with usb-c headphones. This will weaken and kill your battery very quickly. With audio jack u don't have this problem.
And don't forget FM radio. Yet another useful feature that was deliberately removed.

Zenfone 9 is also mooore bigger in overal volume because of its thickness. Just use calculator too. It's even bigger than Xperia 5 IV.
Both of them can't be compare head to head to Xiaomi 13 because they still have fingerprint on the side while Xiaomi 13 has under display. The also still have bottom bezel while Xiaomi 13 already use flexible screen just like iPhone. The flexible screen has a bottom bezel that bends inward which automatically takes up space.
I'm not a Xiaomi. So, I can advise you to go for Xperia 5 IV and Zenfone 9 if you really like those models and don't like Xiaomi 13. All three phones are good.
